  1. Edit 11-10-2017 - 6 Brachio's now, not 4 - I decided to add a few more which will be wading in the pool. - John My modelling desk is presently full of Dinosaurs from the Tamiya Prehistoric Diorama ranges. Along with the 2 T-Rex diorama sets I have on the go, I've now also started building a new diorama that will incorporate 6 of the Tamiya 1/35 Brachiosaurus educational diorama sets - I'm going to call it "Walking with Dinosaurs" displayed as a herd of Brachios and their infants trailing along the Jurassic plains. These are just the most superbly sculpted kits - highly recommended to anyone looking to do something a tad different from the norm. The box art below. I've been picking these up for around £20 to £25 each and you get a beautiful BIG well printed box from Tamiya Here's the infants - I will drop them in some boiling water to change and vary the neck and tail poses The kit provides a choice of 2 mouth poses - I have chosen 2 of each, open showing the tongue and teeth, and the other 2 closed More limbs than Legs & Co from the old Top of the Pops days All 4 kits together I have filled the tails with DAZ clay and left the assembled bodies in a cold damp room to slow the drying time down - tonight I intend to heat and steam the tails to produce 4 different tail poses. The DAZ in the tail is to stop the plastic collapsing on itself when being bended The leg clip pins that Tamiya provide really make the limb attachment a snug fit and reduce the amount of seam filling I'm hoping to end up with a scene depicting something like this below - I've already invested in a number of bits of 1/35 scenery to help with the intended diorama end result. Thanks for looking in - and of course to Mrs P and the inspiration taken from her build last month. John
  2. Feeling prehistorically inspired by both my previous Triceratops diorama and Mrs P's roll-out of dinosaurs, I have started work immediately on a pair of Tamiya's 1/35 Tyrannosaurus prehistoric diorama sets - again to be integrated into a single diorama - A pair of the Tyrant kings, fighting over a carcass of an old Lindberg Jurassic Park Hadrosuarus kit. I had to take the heat gun to these to re-set their tail and neck poses as I didn't want a mirroring pair of kits despite the mouth and leg pose options that Tamiya provide. These two lizard kings will be posed have a real blood splashing, flesh tearing go at each other.. I've spent a few nights snading down that horrible green filler and adding proper skin textures back onto the adjusted poses - lots of work left to do and thanks for looking in - John
  3. Do Dinosaurs count as Figures... I guess they can. I'm not trying to over show this diorama on the forum but it seemed appropriate to put these up on the Diorama section once completed having had the build stages amble along in the figures WIP pages. Here's a pair of the Tamiya 1/35 Triceratops Prehistoric Diorama educational sets that have been merged into a single action piece. Each kit comes with 1 Triceratops and 2 Velociraptors. I have one of the Tamiya pack of 6 raptors at hand and added another of the little menaces - the kit mould stamp dates back to 1992 before these guys were suspected/known to have probably been feathered. I'm fast becoming more loyal to the Spanish Vallejo & MIG type vendors so most of the colours used were from them except Tamiya for the eye glaze. A fun piece of plastic to build but did get me very frustrated throughout some of the flesh tome paint processes due to my lack of previous knowledge and skills - big bow of respect to the wargaming and figure modellers out there as a result of thereafter..... Hope you enjoy this if you have not already stumbled across these elsewhere on the forum. Thanks for the peep in - John
