  1. Hi all, I finally decided to post a WIP after many months of lurking. I've decided to build the Airfix Spitfire Mk 22 For the first time ever I will be adding some aftermarket stuff to enhance the build. I've acquired some Eduard super fabric belts because I am not quite brave enough to use those fiddly photo etch parts yet. The first thing I noticed when opening the box is the large amount of ejection pin markings which is quite frustrating but I will have to deal with that. First off I removed the parts from the sprue for the interior and gave them a quick clean up and then prepped them for some primer. After a coat of black I then gave it a spray of Vallejo Model Air Interior Grey-Green I then painted the small details using a fine brush and then applied a wash over the cockpit walls I then applied the seat belts using small spots of white glue Thats all for today, tomorrow I'll be cleaning up the wash and connecting the fuselage havles Cam
  2. Those of you who have followed my builds will know two things; the pace is slower than glacial and finished builds are few and far between. This weekend the wife is away and the children are staying with their grandmother leaving me with the place to myself. So while I'm home alone I'm giving myself a challenge. Can I finish a kit before they all come home tomorrow? Let's find out. First thing to do is find something suitable. It must be small so 1/72 scale and for ease of painting it should preferably be one colour and it should be the best plane ever so a Spitfire it is. A quick trip to the stash and this is on the bench. I do like these post-war silver Spits so the choice is made. There should be an etch harness somewhere. Yup, there it is. Sprues Clear parts Decals The colour scheme Wish me luck! Oh, by the way, please don't expect lots of brilliant photographs on this. I have neither the equipment or the time. Or the ability!
