Dear Colleagues The Universal Carrier was a truly British vehicle. No other nation in WWII had anything quite like it. Capable of bringing up ammunition under fire, evacuating the wounded and leading assaults, it was the maid of all work for a Commonwealth Infantry Battalion. Riich make a lovely example although don't expect to complete it in a weekend! Having read the book 'Lion Rampant' about life in the 6th KOSB I had to choose this one from the Riich decal sheet. Yetholm is of course on the Scottish borders. Hope you like it? Andrew

Skoda Rasdschlepper Ost Riich.Models 1/35 Engine: The enginer consists of many small parts, all of which are very accurate. So assembled is easy straight forward. The engine I sprayed black completely, then I dry brushed with aluminum C8. Frame: assembly without exhaust, gear rods and winch. Sprayed in dark gray C40, weathering with oil. I dipped the rope in brown oil mixture and left it for one day to become dry. Wheels: The RSO was designed with oversized steel wheels. Aluminum tread sprayed, afterward I put some crystals of salt with some water, and let it dry. After a layer of yellow paint, I brushed off the salt and darkened the surface with highly diluted black paint. Happy modelling

Take a large underpowered amphibious tracked carrier, add a pair of torpedoes (making them dangerously top-heavy and unstable), strap two of them to the deck of a submarine, surface outside the enemy's lagoon harbour, take quite a while to prepare for launch, release the carriers and attack the ships in the lagoon! Anyway, the Ka-Tsu is a most unusual subject, and we have Riich Models (yes two i's) to thank for a quite nice 1/72 scale kit of it After a five-day build here's what I ended up with. My build log with images of modifications and scratch-built details is over on the Missing Lynx Braille Scale DG: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/missinglynx/viewtopic.php?f=47210&t=316081&p=1531131#p1531131 Thanks for looking.

Dear Fellow Modellers Thought I would try my hand at the Riich 6 pdr and crew The figures are servicable but not superb. I gave loader no 1 a Hornet head. I added some more camo tapes to their helmets The markings for the men are Durham Light Infantry in 49th Infantry Division. Perhaps you could imagine them defending the Rauray spur following Operation Martlet? Hope you like it? Andrew
