Oh boy...
I'm not sure how this will turn out. I started this project very unprepared :
* Almost zero knowledge about Mustangs.
* Very few reference material
* Not the best kit to use
So I basically have no idea what I'm getting into.
But I want to use this kit :
To build Paul Mantz's Bendix Air Race winner :
This picture is from a later date :
I know almost nothing about Mustangs, so I'm using the builds of the Tamiya P-51D on this forum as reference.
Got a Hasegawa P-51 spinner and prop stashed away somewhere and a Verlinden cockpit for a D, these might come in handy.
Started by removing the wheelbay with a PE saw :
And that's it for now.
Could only find a few black and white photos of this Mustang from 1946-47. Any reference material is more then welcome.
I also have no idea what to do with all the rivets on this kit. The few photos show virtually no rivets at all, so I might best sand them off ?
Please feel free to criticize.
