Ok, this isn't "Armour" but since I've seen a Kübelwagen here, I suppose this is the right section to present my 1/72 Profiline Steyr 1500 Truck. I have a special interest in this vehicle as it was built in my country - in the town of Steyr in Upper Austria, to be exact (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steyr). Profiline seems to be a subsidiary of Special Hobby, and the same kit is also marketed under their 'Special Armour' range. It comes in various set-ups, as a cargo truck or ambulance vehicle. When CMK/Special Hobby attended IMPS Austria's Go Modelling in March 2016 they had some version of this kit reduced -50%. I got myself three. Here's the first one finished. As it is of short-run nature, some fiddling and fettling is neccessary to get everything lined-up. Cargo are resin items from CMK, my spares box and scratch built tarpaulin (from rubber gloves). Painted with Gunze/Mr.Hobby acrylics, weathering with artist's oils and pastel chalks. Windshield wipers and rear view mirror are scratch built from photo etch scraps. Hope you like this tiny truck!

Hi, Built this alongside my Mesa Police Profilne MD500E and the same comments apply as this is basically the same kit. Added pretty much the same parts to this one as the Mesa Police version but not so many aerials on this one. Replaced the kit exhaust as it doesn't look enough like the real thing. The area behind the rotor is a mesh on the real aircraft and is represented in the kit by a solid plastic part with a 'mesh' decal to go over it. This doesn't look right as the mesh on the decal is too thick and printed in black. I tried some etched brass and woven brass mesh and they both looked right until painted when they looked too thick. My next idea was to vacform a clear part which is now fitted to the model. I want to experiment with printing my own decal to go over this but that will have to wait until I get some more decal paper. This one is more of a tail-sitter than the MD500E despite lots of lead under the cabin floor due to the extra weight of the tail boom. It will quite happily fall back on it's tail given the slightest opportunity! Enjoyed building both of the MD500s but I'm glad they're done now as they were more difficult than I expected from looking at the parts. Completely clear fuselage pod was a challenge with avoiding sticky fingers and paint runs etc. Seems strange not having a tail rotor on a helicopter but at least it's one less thing to paint! Hi, This is my Profiline MD500E in 1/72. This is one of those kits that looks stunning but fights you all the way. Very nicely produced but most of the parts don't fit very well (especially the cabin floor) and quite a few parts aren't included for the decal options. I added the rear seats, searchlight, footsteps, camera and mirror on the skid as well as loads of aerials and cabling underneath. Another problem with this kit is finding enough space for the weight needed to get it to sit properly. Anyway I'm happy with how it's turned out. Just noticed the damaged blue decal on the right hand side, I'll have to sort that...... Thanks for looking. Steve
