The first 1/32 scale kit of the famous Ryan PT-22 Recruit. Also known as the "Maytag Messerschmitt" due to the sound of it's Kinner 5 cylinder radial engine and odd appearance, the PT-22 trained literally thousands of airmen during WW-2 and was flown for sport for many years afterwars, some being active even today. Our kit is beautifully cast in resin, with metal landing gear legs and a full sheet of protoetched flying and landing wires, as well as dash boards and other details. The wing is one piece, allowing the correct dihedral and sweep with separate ailerons and flaps. The fuselage is hollowcast with a slide in cockpit.Rudder and elevators can bepositioned as desired too.Clear windscreens are provided. The engine cylinders were drawn in CAD and 3D printed to allow for amazing detail, you can actualy read the Kinner log on the rocker covers. This is a charming and truly unique model of a very important USAAC trainer, as well as making into a show stopping display piece with it's yellow wings and polished aluminum fuselage.Parts and decals for the Navy version, the NR-1 are included.Wingspan is 11.3 inches. Available for pre-order now, we expect to ship kits in July.
