  1. A GB that I hadn't really expected to join, and didn't participate in the chat surrounding it in any way. That was until I saw the same subject appear in the thread list, earlier this week. Presenting the biggest British WW2 bomber in my stash. Joining with this kit, bought on Amazon in 2017 for £12.31. Is that the biggest bargain? Parts. Originally MPM in 2002, then Merlin parts in 2008. This Revell kit released in 2014. Decals, look very precise. Offering either this RAF option of Aug 1941. Or this RCAF, same month.
  2. Another one that has sat on the shelf of doom for far too long. This really needs to be completed, along with... The Merc The 308 The Diablo The FIAT 500 and the Payhauler. They have not been completely forgotten. Anyway, having got that off my chest, here goes. The box top: It's a British classic. The body was primed using Halfords' red-oxide primer, then top coated with a mix of Tamiya gloss colours mixed as per the instructions. It gives a really good metallic maroon/red finish. I mixed up my own 'pink' primer for the interior as I have run out of the Halfords' primer a long time ago... The floor-pan. This kit has been a real pleasure to put together so far, more progress soon. All the best, Alan.
  3. Hello all trying to salvage an early build of mine. The kit is the reboxing of the Revell mk IIa i replaced the cockpit, landing gear, and propeller when i built the kit. However the Paint is horrible as at the time i was only able to use rattle-cans. And the colors weren't a good match for the DFS. Recently i oversprayed a RAF Dk green on it. Just not sure if i should go with Dk earth or ocean grey ? Its an early spitfire mk IIa. Now if my memory is ok theres not much difference between a Mk Ia & Mk IIa visually. And i was thinking of making either a B.o.B. Mk IIa or a lend lease. Did the russians get early mk's or nothing until the mk V. I cant seem to find photo's of early Mk's in russian markings. I really would love to do a Dk. Green Dk. Earth scheme. So will most likely wind up doing a B.o.B. Scheme. Im not a rivet counting builder type so i can fudge it a little. However I at least like my models to be plausible. If anyone can answer the Russian ? And if there is any major Differences visually between a Mk Ia & IIa would be very greatful. Dennis
