  1. Let´s add one more Fokker. This is my Fokker T-VIII from MPM box:
  2. Hi, Following post on F13 I promised to post my Junkerses. Now it will be W 34 in Luftawffe markings from Pardubice A.B.32 unit by MPM ("old tool" with vacu canopy etc. ). It is OOB (with only a few changies). The second one is deeply reshaped "W 34 on floats" (also by MPM) to became K 43fa, from LeLv 44, Hirviranta, Finish AF (in 1943, I think). This mashine (JU-127) survived the war and there are many photos of it available, revealing development of her camo with years. In my model main changies are in fuselege (it is lower by about 2 mm and flat from top), canopy is open, side windows are in different positions, gun is added etc.. All this would not be difficult if the surface was flat - but it was not flat... This is "Junkers style" surface. So it was a bit labour and results is not always perfect, but I like it. There are ski added. All this conversions are scratch build. This was a nice play... However - I have to admit, that green on K 43 is a too fresh, I am sorry for this mistake. I realized it too late - I visited very nice Helsinki museum of aviation in 2010, and this model I did in 2009. Perhaps one day I will find enough motivation to repaint it to more olive green....But not now, unfortunately. BTW- last days when I am coming back home it is already dark, so the photos have to done with bulb light. Single photo which is made in full sunlight origin from 2009. It is also not good. In my feeling the best light for photos of model is a disperssed sunlight, for example in bright but cloudy day or in a shadow. Perhaps in week-end I will manage to add some daylight shots. So - please enjoy and comments are welcome Regards Jerzy-Wojtek W 34 HAU K43: And family photo:
  3. Hello all. I have recently been building old models and getting plenty of fun from them. This time, I thought I would try something newer, this time from 1999, the MPM 1/72 scale Fairey Barracuda II. It was an 'interesting' build, and went reasonably well for a 'short run' kit. I did not need much filler, just some underneath the fuselage and along the wing/fuselage joints. The build is full of errors (probably self-induced), but the main problem I had was with the Cartograf transfers. I do not know if was the age, but they lifted off the surface and curled. I used 'Klear' to re-settle them down, but they also silvered something atrocious, despite flooding underneath them with 'Klear'. The model represents one from 52 TBR Wing, 829 Squadron, HMS Victorious 1944. I have always wanted to build a Barracuda, ever since I saw the old Frog kit back in the 60's, and I managed to get this kit from our local Club Show for only £7 a few years ago, and I thought it was time to build it. Anyway, here she is. One error in the build has just come and slapped me in the chops: I forgot to paint the wingtip lights! Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed building this and it was fun not doing a 'shake and bake'. Thanks for looking, Ray
  4. This is the first of a series of 1/72 monoplane fighter aircraft I am planning to work on that were built as paper planes, as prototypes, or limited production by the 2nd Division European powers. I have always been fascinated by the oddballs, never weres and didnt get a chance aircraft. So far I have in my little stash from the Netherlands Fokker DXXI, Koolhoven FK58, Polish PZL 50, Yugoslavian Rozogarski IK3 and Czech Avai B35. More will be added to the stash as I spot them online. Fokker DXXI by MPM a short run kit of the Danish Airforce prototype cannon armed version. It wasnt successful as the pair of big heavy Madsen 20mm cannon were too heavy for the 645hp Bristol Mercury XIS engine, even though the Madsens 20mm x 120mm ammunition packed a real punch. The sprues are quite clean with only some small flash and ejector pins. I built the cockpit carefully painted it and found out it didnt fit and needed some serious emery stick action. The fuselage halves and the panel lines matched quite well but the lower wing didnt want to fit and needed some very careful work with a scalpel I am still not happy with the fit of the rear of the wing. The wing tops also needed some work to fit against the fuselage and I have had to do some filling. I wanted to cut the undercarriage legs so it would look like it was on the ground with the oleos compressed. I drilled down through the legs with a 0.50mm drill bit then cut a section out of the legs and glued it back together with brass wire to add strength. 5. Good evening to all ! I returned from my work in mountain, at 1735 Mt, for three days we had -10°C medium, but the night was -15°C...... Sorry, I forgot to tell you that I'm a radar technician and all the electronics, at ground, for civil aviation; normally I work at Genova airport but I move also in others sites ; However this evening I post an old kit of MPM brand: A Boston Havoc that I have done in russian color and also torpedo. Unfortunately, after 3 months and no time to take in some contest, a bad flood in 2011 has filled my basement workshop with 1:50 meters of water and was destroyed At next ! Ettore
