Some things take time, some kits too! Don`t know how long this kit was waiting beneath my stash pile?! The Heinkel He 100 is in fact a tremendous and a pretty aircraft. Hope one of the new or old Hightech modelling brands will release this kit sometimes in better quality! At very first let me say, this kit is mainly a "Do it yourself" kit and you will need a lot of patience and endurance. I hope the result will deserves the effort. The cockpit, built out of the box, lacks a lot of details and is in some cases truly wrong. I`ve found two pictures of the original cockpit. It is possible, that this two pictures represents close up pictures of the russian export aircraft. The original presumption, that the He 100 cockpit had similarities with the one of the He 112 is completly wrong. (Source: Heinkel He 100 Record Breaker, Erwin Hood) The cockpit is painted with RLM 02. I`ve used Acrylics from JPS Colours. Sadly this brand is no longer available as I`ve heard! The entire kit is completly rescribed and I`ve engraved new rivets too. Therefore I`ve used a tool called Rosie the Riveter. http://www.victorymodels.com/petr-dousek-rosie-the-riveter-riveting-tool-0-75mm-1-32-1-48-double-pdr04d.html Please have in mind, the fuselage of this kit is about 1 mm too narrow. I clued a matching sprue between both fuselage halfs. The upper and lower exhaust fairings are scratch built too. The exhaust pipes are the origin Tamiya Bf 109 E pipes. Both wingtip position lights are not provided. As you can see, I`ve scratch built a new airintake on the nose front and a new oil cooler. In fact the most, if not the complete small parts have to be scratch built by yourself. Greetz Dirk

I have some questions for anybody who has the HiPM 1/48 Shenyang J-6/F-6 (Kit 48010). I have their S-105/MiG-19S Farmer C kit (48008), and I want to make a J-6, with the parachute housing on the vertical tail. I see on Sprue D, that it has parts 53 & 54, which appear to be what I need to add, to represent the parachute housing. I am not sure if there are other mods needed to be done, or other different parts that need to be used. Can anybody send me a scan of the page(s) that show how to modify the kit? Oh, and PLEASE do not tell me to throw out this kit and buy another manufacturer's kit, because that is NOT an option. Scans can be sent to me at lengesath(AT)cox(DOT)net. Larry

Well, I was talking to my mate Chris yesterday and the subject of the BV 141 came up, with Chris saying he'd quite like a 1:48 one, shame there isn't one. Aha, I said, I think about 12 -15 years ago I built one. An HiPM kit if I remember correctly, It's in a box somewhere, I'll see if I can find it. So here is an 'oldie' from my collection, built somewhere around the year 2000. As I remember the cockpit 'nacelle' halves were moulded in clear plastic, and there was a fair bit of resin & etch in the kit. So this is what I found, still undamged after all these years; It's a big ol' bird, Fw-190 for comparison; Odd looking thing isn't it Cheers John
