  1. Hello, I'm relatively new to modelling and I have a Iwata Neo and I am looking to get the Italeri 1/9 Kettenkrad but I have a slight issue trying to find some paints to use that are airbrush ready (I have NOTHING paint wise and I don’t know what I will need as basics (like normal black for primer etc) and what I will need for main paints to use on the model, I will be painting it as the scheme in the middle of this image. Thanks in advance https://images.app.goo.gl/nCqr1jz779K21zp96
  2. I've seen decals in 1/48th for XG624, the famous "Tower Bridge fly through" Hunter, but I want to build a 1/32 scale kit as this aircraft. The aircraft serial numbers aren't much of a problem, but getting the 1 sqn Crest for the nose is another matter. Using ones from another 1 sqn kit is going to be limited too ( the Revell 1/32 GR1 may be the only source I can think of- if it's the same size as a Hunters). Could any of you who print your own decals be able to print off a set and at cost please?
  3. I've been watching the 2nd animated series of this, and have kind of got into it and kind of fancy a Yamato for the collection, so I'm wondering which one of the many kits in different scales offers the best value versus detail and size, with a view to keeping it reasonably cheap. I can't seem to find a model of the Seagull either - does one exist, or has it been overlooked so far? I like the design, and it reminds me a lot of an OV-10 Bronco
  4. Hi Guys, its the mad Martian here again, in need of assistance. After many years trying, I have finally managed to secure one of the kits on by bucket list at a sensible price. The kit is the Contrail Supermarine Southampton. I have it in the back of my mind that Aviation news once did some plans for the Southampton. I am aware that the kit is nearer to 1/76 than 1/72 but the plans would at least be a start. Does any kind soul out there have a set that they would be willing to copy for me? I will naturally reimburse any cost involved. Your Hopefully Martian 👽
  5. Hello guys, I already asked in another thread but so far haven't got any answer. I'll try it in separate topic with more luck. Friend of mine provided me copy of article about Hawker Fury from Air Classics Volume 13 Number 4 April 1977 with excellent plans of Persian Hawker Fury powered by Pratt Whitney engine. It's actually part four. Can anybody tell me if the other parts of this monography contain scale plans as well? Possibly Norwegian version? I would be very gratefull for any help, copy of all parts would be a dream ☺️ . BTW I was searching on the internet for the list what was published in this splendid magazine, but found nothing. Thanks a lot in advance!
  6. I've had the following request in from Dr Cathryn Spence, the Curator of Archives at the American Museum in Britain, who is looking for some models for their displays. It's the perfect excuse to put some of your models in someone else's cabinets to make some space for your new ones! Have a read, and if you can help out, drop her an email, telling her what you can help with, and where you saw her request

    Aircraft decals

Hi everybody, I'm new in this forum , so I need your help.Does anybody know somebody who make custom decals?I wan't to build a Romanian F-16 in 1/32 scale and i need some basic decals , not the hole stencils just some white ones at the right and left side of the cockpit and a blue band at the top of the fin. Yeah,I know the white ones are the problem that's why I came here. Thank you guys,........
  8. Hi guys and girls I have a quick question to ask for anyone who has built the tamiya red bull rb6 f1 car. Right so basically I have bought one recently with the plan to make it into the late season car with the full detail set. This won't be the first time I have built this car (it's the 5th one. 1 binned, 1 Toro Rosso, 1 box stock, 1 but made by ejan and this one). So having made a few already I know about the issue with the decals reacting to tamiya ts13 clear a little and also about zero paints pre mixed clear absolutely destroying the decals, why one went in the bin out of rage, so what I would like to know is has anyone built one and used a clear coat over the decals with them not reacting or melting and if so what make of clear was it so I don't mess up a build again. Thanks Shaun
  9. Is anyone building or does anyone have stashed a decent quality large scale kit of the M48A3 at all.....If so is there any chance they could take a few photos of the detail around the lower hull and suspension arms for me please? I'm trying to build a reasonably accurate 1/72 version and the kit I'm using (the only one there is) has detail that I strongly suspect to be spurious as the kit is also intended to be built as an M48A2 or M48A2C. I've some reasonable reference photos, but none of them seem to show what I want, probably because tanks aren't usually displayed upside-down with the wheels off.
  10. Hi I hope someone can help me here. I was given the Revell 1/32 Mossie for Christmas, and want to make a few improvements. I seem to remember someone on here mentioning they'd contacted someone at the UK Tamiya importers and had managed to buy the spruces from the 1/32 Spitfire kit in order to get the Merlin engine. Am I imagining things or is this possible? If anyone can help that would be great, if not I apologise for making things up! Cheers Al
  11. I am about to do a double Corsair build an F4U-1a (Pacific) WW2 bird and an F4U-4 Korean Bird, I have and can find plenty of info regarding the airframes etc, but having trouble with pilot figure colours. My first attempt was to use Humbrol 103 cream for the WW2 pilot uniform, but this is definitely wrong can anyone give ma a better match? As for the Korean War pilot figure should he be dressed as per the WW2 pilot or be totally different, I.e in green? TIA. Doug.
  12. I remember building this as a kit, hand painting it in some kind of yellow, and applying the decals to the matt finish and stumbled upon it while I was looking for an N-Gauge loco for Booty Mike. Can anyone tell me which kit this is, whether it is accurate, and whether it's worth renovating, or should I scrub it? Any tips on renovation, making it more accurate, or which recycling box it should go in will be received with thanks
  13. My friend is looking for replacement Decals for the old Monogram 1/32 Hawker Hurricane. Seems the decals in this kit where notoriously bad. The kit was in BP188 JV-Z 6 Sqn Egypt 1941 Markings. I had a good look around and other markings for the Mk IIc in 1/32 seem to be a bit thin on the ground. Any help with the matter would be greatly appreciated. Regards Terry
  14. Hi Everyone, I have already posted this in the Wanted section already, but I am just wondering if anyone has a copy of the instructions for the Italeri 1/72 EA-6A Wild Weasel kit, number 051 that could be e-mailed to me ? I know from researching this kit on the internet that it is an old kit, but I am still hopeful. Thanks in advance, Rick
  15. A few years back now on a lazy sunny Saturday I was wondering down the flight line at RIAT Fairford when I saw this. A true vision of beauty to my delight on a small table just a stones throw away the crew were selling a special edition of the Heller kit complete with new box art , decal sheet and painting guide and most importantly a small piece of paper with an e mail address telling me where I could get a resin nose bump and cheek blisters. After getting my pass stamped from her who must be obeyed , a nice chat with the aircrew and the exchange of beer tokens I was the proud owner of the said beastie . Now some where between RAF Fairford and Cardiff I lost the e mail address the kit went in the attic and was forgotten . Well the other day I re discovered the old kit and now really fancy giving it a bash . I ask you do any one know where I could get the resin cheeks and nose blister to finish this beauty. regards Glenn.
  16. Hi guys, There are a few amongst you that are quite the Lancester buffs, and I'm putting out a call to you fellows to see if you're willing to participate in a project with a mainstream kit manufacturer. If you know your onions on the Lanc to the ultimate degree, have references, accurate plans and so forth, can you let me know ASAP and I'll pass your details on to the kit manufacturer to make contact. Only put yourself forward if you genuinely do "know it all". You'll get found out if you're not! You can show your interest on this thread, but only PM me your email addresses and contact details, as we don't want screen-scraping spammers getting your addresses from the public forums. Mike
