Hi to all. I started this lovely kit, the Galland special Bf 109F-6/U, wich acually was a F-2 model with some Galland's personal modifications, as the adittion of MGFF 20 mm cannons in the middle of both wings, plus a bulge that covers the drum magazine. For depict this model, Hasegawa cleverly adds the cannon tips in white metal and the underwing magazine covers in PUR. I took care of gluing a plastic piece as a limit for the metal pieces of the wnig mounted cannons. I used a resin cockpit of muy spare box, I don´t remember the brand. I also added a door with its fixinng strap in the back of the cockpit. I added a set of photoetched seat belts form my spare box too. I hope you like it. Regards, Pablo

4 Messerschmitt 109 Emil from 1940 BoB on 1/48

Hallo Four Messerschmitt 109 Emils of these two aces. Hasegawa, Tamiya, Revell kits in 1/48. All kits are about 20 years or older. I also had Eduard etched parts, barrels from Master and so on. Masks from different producers. I used Gunze C-colors for the paint shop. Some MIG stuff for weathering. I tried to be accurate. It took me some time to finish them, vacation in between. This old kits have some inaccuracies. For instance the instrument panel outline does not match with the cross section of the fuselage at this exact position. Just wondering! The time range of this 4 models are the fall of 1940 to winter. GALLAND And now the a/c from WICK: Happy modelling -

I've started Eduard's 1/48 BF-109E-4 to be built as Adolf Galland's Dec 1940 mount. The Eduard kit is really nice, but it is finicky and has some dimension issues. The first issue is the chord on the slats is to deep, I reduced it by .040" by cementing a .040" piece of stretched sprue into the well, trimming a like amount off the slat, after it was dry, sanding down the sprue and restoring the panel lines with a razor saw. nearside sanded and panel lines restored, farside not done yet Rather than assemble the complete engine and struggle to align everything, I opted to cut the engine lower sides out, cement the exhaust on and basically treat the exhaust like a resin aftermarket (it's so much easier than installing each stack piece by piece afterwards. A piece of brass rod for the prop and a couple of .040" plastic pieces cemented to the upper cowl and drilled works for the prop. I also cut sections of engine case and glued them into the cowl where they could be seen through the openings The cockpit is quite nice with the photoetch panels, but the supplied seatbelts had a garish, cartoon look, so I installed them prior to painting, and painted them in situ. I've now started the final assembly and painting (at this time Galland's plane was finished in the 71/02/65 scheme) The Eduard kit is great, with a little rework, the only place I've had to fill was the bottom cowl seam (some spreader bars, and some trimming/shimming, but no other putty - I hate putty!) Thanks for looking, Colin

Still a little bit to go on Galland's 262, but I thought I would share where I'm at with it. This is the 262 that Galland was flying on 26 April, 1945, when he scored his final 2 victories, but was then shot down and injured in turn by P-47's, ending his flying career. The model is Monograms aging 1/48 kit, with an Ultracast seat, CMK nosewheel, and Aeromaster "Galland special" decals. I'll post better pic's when I finish the weathering, gunsight and antennae. Hope you like I'm not sure who the artist is for this painting, but it is beautiful Colin

The latest on the bench - a 1/48 ME-262A-1

It's Monograms ancient 1/48 262, still a great kit, and the only one that doesn't require a lot of panel/rivet filling! This is just a quick build, I've added an Ultracast seat, and some scratchbuilt cockpit and wheelwell details and a spare nose wheel. It will be finished as one of Adolf Galland's aircraft from JV44, using the Aeromaster "Galland special" sheet. Hope you like, so far. Colin -

Hi Another bird from my shelf - Siebel fh 104 Hallore. This is a personell a/c of of German WWII ace, Adolf Galland I made this markings from my drawer, and now, when I wanted to post it I found two new data. First, that I omitted at least one emblem. You might see it here: http://falkeeins.blogspot.com/2011/11/adolf-gallands-siebel-sh-104.html Second one, that Pavla made this markings as a limited edition, but it was not available in Poland, I think... In Pavla markings there are two more emblems. Anyway - when I add this emblems I will post new photo. Comments welcomed Regards Jerzy-Wojtek
