Hello! This time I wanted to do a quick, neat build just for fun, so I decided the AZ's OH-6 as the following build. I was wrong. This kit is realy a short run one. Anyway. Just to make sure, this is he boxart of it: The choosen one is flown by the Dominican Republic. I have not seen pictures with doors so first I had to remowe them. P1070781 The fitting is very raugh int his kit, and also the details. Actually i find the PUR parts nice and precise but the stirene moulds. Some modifications on the skids: P1070854 I scrachbuilt some gadgets but as you see I culd spend a whole life with detailing. P1070857 P1070858

Here is the second in my line of Latin T-birds. I still have two Platz T-33s in the pile! As you can see she is depicted as “3304” of the Fuerza Aerea Dominicana (Dominican Air Force), and was one of four machines acquired in 1956 and operated briefly (until 1958) by that force. The US Mission withdrew them in 1958 and they were supplied to Brasil. The Dominicans went through the same again in 1967 when they acquired two ex-USAF machines and those, too, were withdrawn by the US for similar reasons. With the FAD during the time of my model they were operated by the Escuadron Ramfis from Trujillo Air Base. At the time the force operated a wide variety of types, such as ex-Swedish Mustangs and Vampires, Thunderbolts, Mosquitoes, Invaders and many others. They were generally painted in bright colours but sadly this didn’t extend to the T-33 fleet. Like my earlier Uruguayan build, this is the excellent Platz kit. My model is based on the following image: What did I do/use? Platz T-33 1/72 Kit built out of the box Painted with Humbrol Enamels – 27001 Metalcote Aluminium overall, 33 Black wing tank halves, 153 Insignia red/189 Insignia blue/34 White for the tail flag, 60 Scarlet for the nose, 226 Interior green, 147 Grey and a few sundry others. Finished with Humbrol Glosscote and Mattcote. Nose guns from half-round Plastruct rod Wing pylons from plastic card Decals were a mix of: 1) wing and fuselage roundels from a Colorado P-47D sheet 2) Ramfis unit badge from a Hobbycraft P-51B kit 3) home printed serials 5) Spanish language stencils from a Microscale Latin T-33 sheet. 5) wing way decals and red lining from the kit. Panel lined and dirtied up a little with Flory dirt and then a few swipes of Tamiya Weathering sticks here and there. I hope you like her. Martin

Hi everyone! Finally the next member of the Kartveli line-up is Ready For Inspection. Alexander Kartveli was, of course, the designer of types such as the SEV-3, P-35, F-84 series and the mighty F-105. This time, and as a side interest, I’ve gone for the Thunderbolt and, as is my way, it is in the markings of the Cuerpo de Aviación Militar Dominicana, the forerunner of the Fuerza Aerea Dominicana. She depicts aircraft number 1113 of a fleet that consisted of around 25 machines, operating from Trujillo Airbase. Most popularly these are illustrated and modelled as either 1124 or 1125 in the red trim, rather than the yellow shown on 1113. Again, my like for the more unusual led me to this scheme. Here is a grainy photo of her: Typically these machines were kept pretty clean. However, I’ve used a little “modeller’s licence” and finished her as I am sure she would have been after a few months of operations – a little grubby, particularly the yellow. She is an F-47D-30 and the base kit is the Revell boxing, which is a great kit to build. It is clean, easy and has ample detail. So, what did I do/use?: Kit – Revell P-47D-30 (04155) 1/72 Decals – Home printed serials and tail code, Mehusla YK-88-1 white stars, Carpena 72-28 national insignia and unit badge, Xtradecal white stripes, Kit decals for stencilling etc. Paints – overall Humbrol Metalcote H27002 with H32 Black anti-dazzle, H154 Insignia yellow, H27004 Metalcote Gunmetal, H189 Insignia Blue and H153 Insignia Red, plus Humbrol Satincote varnish. Paint mask – Montex 72001 Plastruct plastic rod for new pitot (corrected shape and the kit one was bent/broken) I hope you like here. Martin

Hello! Finally I've finished this project, my Dominican OH-6 is ready, please wellcome it. The vuilding was not an easy ride, no parts were fitting and the details were a li'l bit sci-fi. You can read further h e r e . First I show you some shots about the progress. Lots of slef made parts was required to make myself setisfied. Almost totally new tail rotor: Seat : Somehow they writen ID insted of FAD. Just... how come?? Anyway I found two A-s and converted two E-s to F: The liquid mask was too old maybe and it was too thin, gooey and easy to tear. Sometimes it made such a thin film that i had to look up photos, where is it. So more and more layers needed to picking it off. Anyway I won, this is it:

Does anyone out there know which block number the F-47s supplied to Dominica were? I have a Revell -30 in the pile and hope that this would work? Also, is there any producer of FAD decals for the F-51D in 1/72? Thanks in advance. Martin
