Hello all,
Maybe being a bit too enthusiastic here, but my planned third entry will be another F-15E, this time in the colours of the 492nd Fighter Squadron, 48th Fighter Wing, based at Lakenheath, but forward deployed to Bagram air base in Afghanistan, 2006/7.
The kit:
Promodeller this time- identical to the Revell kits, except it has a few bombs and AMRAAMs thrown in.
Aftermarket:
I will be using Pavla seats, Wolfpack OEF update set (including new antennae and the SNIPER pod), Eduard RBF tags, Two Mikes cover set and Afterburner decals.
This is the jet:
Serial 97-0221. Delivered in 1997, this Eagle has served exclusively with the 492nd. During the 2006/2007 deployment to Bagram and if my adding up is correct, this jet dropped 102 bombs in support of ISAF forces. There are also 4 unknown markings on the bomb tally. They look like JSOW's to me, but i'm not sure if they were launched by this machine, or guided from another platform. If the former is correct, its' tally moves up to 106 weapons deployed! Quite a feat.
I'll be loading it up with the standard CAS fit of 2-4x GBU-12's, 3x GBU-38 Airburst, 1x GBU-31, 1x AIM-9, 1x AIM-120 and 2x fuel tanks.
