Hi all! my first vehicle in 1/72, the kit is the Italeri fast assembly one, pretty bad designed, no internals and not all pieces were fitting well in place, still enjoyed the build!
The M40 was a Semovente (Self propelled artillery) build after the success of the German Stug III in the Blitzkrieg.
Armed with an Howitzer caliber 75mm and long 18 times 75mm (We had a strange way for cataloguing artillery), was primly intended in an infantry support role, but with the introduction of anti tank rounds, like the E.P. (Effetto Pronto or Ready Effect that was an HEAT charge), or A.P. rounds, could efficiently fight enemy armour of that period, especially against the first production of British tanks and early Shermans.
The frontal armour plate was of only 50mm in the thickest part.
Here it is! Well weathered and ready for the North African campaign.
I then made my first diorama, the bush and the ruins are a bit out of scale, I am used to major scales.
Of course, it gets a license plate!
I added on the right side the symbol of the Divisione Ariete (Ram Division)
Thanks for the visit.
