Hi everyone This is my first Takom kit.... ... and first impressions are very positive. There's lots of decent looking plastic in the box plus a reasonable selection of the sort of 'go faster' stuff you usually pay extra for in the shape of wire for the tow cables, clear vision blocks for the periscopes and some very delicate PE. But since I'd already bought them for a now delayed Tamiya T-55, I'll be adding workable resin tracks & a metal gun barrel. There are 9 paint/marking options in the box, including a vehicle from 'Operation Danube' (the Warsaw Pact occupation of Czechoslovakia), which. if my maths is correct, marks its 50th anniversary this month, so that's a very strong contender. Now all I need to do is convert the 'Mig Ammo' paint call-outs into a brand that I can actually get my hands on! Craig

Hello, Here are a couple of shots of my recently completed Merkava mk1 hybrid (Takom 1/35) with crew (Walkyrie 1980's IDF crew). Beautiful kit, fastest build ever for me (about 2 weeks end to finish). WIP can be found here Main adds to the kit, again not much as it's a great kit: Antiskid done with diluted PVA glue spread with a brush and covered with embossing powder Basket contents from various sets (Tamiya, Legend and Plus Model I believe, they have been out of their original boxes for a long time) Tarp and ID panels done in white milliput Rear hull baskets completed with aluminium strips Comments welcome, always nice to have help and improve next time Arnaud

My latest project is Takom's beautiful kit of the Bundeswehr's 8*8 amphibious scout and fire support vehicle. They were in service from the late 1970s until shortly after the turn of the century, when they were replaced by the smaller fenec cars. The Takom kit is highly detailed, and features a reasonable amount of parts for a 1/35 kit. All lights and periscopes are clear. the kit also includes metal suspension springs, some vinyl flaps, and there is a small fret of PE. Markings include two overall dark olive A1 vehicles from the late 70s/early 80s, and two A-2 KFOR vehicles in NATO 3-tone finish. Right now I'm edging towards building one of the earlier machines. Construction began with gluing on various boxy structures to the lower hull. I then painted it a generic dark green primer. Typically I don't paint afv kits until most assembly is complete, but there chassis here will be so complex that it might become difficult to get paint on the hull later. I also put on the rear struts. The front four will go on later. Next I'll assemble the complex rear axles. Each of the four had independent steering, and all are posable on the kit.
