  1. Hi I am new to ships and have some experience in AFV's and Aircraft. I have plans to move into ships and have these two models in my Amazon basket. I know I'm probably asking a silly question, but... Can I use these models to create a diorama with a water base something like this? Also in my Amazon basket are these.... As a complete newbie to ships am I starting in the right place with the right stuff or am iissing something? I would really like to make a diorama with a nazi submarine underneath a tribal class convoy destroyer spitting out hedgehogs or something similar....
  2. Hey, After laying my hands on a 1/350 water line model I started wondering what products there could be for seascape modelling? A short google and youtube search brought up MIG, AK and Vallejo products but barely any comparison. Other than the price, is any of these better/worse than the others? Also, if you might care to share your approach to modelling waves and water that would be very useful to a beginner like me, for sure. Many thanks! Cristian
  3. Can anyone help... I have been airbrushing for a few weeks now & a new phenomena has occurred this morning that has me foxed. With a full 5ml of stynlyrez primer in the cup I began to do some serious priming - BUT - after a few minutes my brush started to just spray water? even though the cup is still fairly full. More tests on a piece of card show the paint is coming through - but seems "diluted" & is puddling on my model & a piece of test cardboard - WEIRD!!! I've just tried posting a pic - but failed miserably... On further inspection of my compressor - the moisture trap (clear plastic bowl) is fogged with moisture. I've unscrewed it & dried it out - but there was actually very little moisture in it to be fair. Any ideas or things to try would be appreciated. Thanks in advance - Steve
  4. Hi, I've asked for an airbrush for my birthday, a Badger one of some description (I'm sure I can find it if it matters. I'm planning on using it for some Airfix tank models and a Spitfire. I do have some previous experience with models, although I've only done about 8 before. I was just wondering how much I should thin my paints for use in the airbrush. I'm planning on using Humbrol acrylic paints (they do say that they can be thinned for airbrushing, but they don't say how much I should thin it). Also, would water be sufficient for thinning? If so, any advice on what amount of paint to water I should use would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  5. My Monogram B26 Marauder 1/48 ,not the best of kits but deff not the worst ,half way through i decided i wanted to try a water feature/crash dio, first attempt but reasonably happy with it .It needed something a we bit to add to it so i bought the Verlinden USN Pilots WWII in Dinghy,(changed the colour scheme to USAAF Crew) hope you like ,comments welcome.
