  1. While looking for something else, I came across this: https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/cars/824087/maserati-forumla-one-racing-scale-model-car-auction It piqued my nterest enough to put here, even though the auction took place in 2017.
  2. Panzer Vor!!!

    Elefant

Hi Whats the best model on the market of the Elefant panzer?? I presume the Tamiya one is a rebox of the old Italeri one but I've not seen the Revell one yet Im talking 1/35 scale
  3. Good afternoon everyone, On Sunday I went to Cosford and picked up, among other things, an Airfix 1:72 TSR-2 and a Pit Road 1:144 TSR-2 "Strike Role". So, seen as I'm planning on doing the 1:72 TSR-2 as my local Cosford example, I thought- why not utilise the 1:144 kit's belly fuel tank and martel missiles to create a "what-if" variant? Based on other info on the internet: This is my interpretation of the TSR-2 GR4 as it could have served in the 1990-1 Gulf War. it is fitted with a targetting "pod" underneath the nose of the cockpit and a retractable refuelling probe on the side of the cockpit, as well as the 4 underwing pylons with Martel missiles. -RBF tags and engine nozzle FOD covers made from paper -Paint was mixed from a variety of Vallejo Air colours -Decals from the Airfix Buccaneer (And the obligatory comparison with a 1p coin) Thanks for having a look! Any comments are much appreciated. Kind regards, Sam
  4. Long time no post. Has any one got, and started work on the new Revell starter Kits for Star Wars, VII The force awakens. Family is bugging me for X-mas gift ideas. Of course im not gonna use the paint brushes from the kits but the paints and kits look quite nice. nice to get back on BM after so long away at work. Mad Larkin
  5. Hi everyone, We were recently commissioned to create a really unique brand video for our client Yutaka Foods- Europe's largest Japanese food importer. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJMyNJ5k8e8 I just wanted to let you know that we have now built the models and shot them all, edited and uploaded the video online. The 70 secs ad was shot in London using miniature models painstakingly created by our team of model makers. (It took them 5 weeks to build 5 different sets) The actual shoot took 5 days and the entire video was shot on 16mm film. We wanted to use traditional film cameras to give the video a sense of nostalgia that you can only achieve with a real film grain. Would love to hear any feedback from the forum about the photos!
  6. Good day to everyone. First of all, I apologize for my English. I bought this set in February 2013. I saw a very unusual kit on the site hlj.com and I ordered it immediately. This is 1/20 scale model, it is a large size, especially in height. I would like to warn those who will buy - you will need shelf more than 25cm tall Kit itself is of the excellent quality, all parts fit together without fitting, many of the details do not require glue and remain mobile.
  7. Evening all! Apologies about the photo's quality (or lack of quality)! This quick little 2 hour build started from an obsession (practically everything nuclear weapons, cold war or anything military post ww2). I have been aware of the Topol and Topol-M missiles for quite a while and have always wanted to build a model of one, naturally, and having seen the new Zvezda offering I decided to think about making my own. Weeks went by with nothing much being done until I came across the Zvezda Topol model in my local model shop, when I got home I sat down with some plasticard, some plastic tubing and some foamboard and created a model of the Topol-M in its "erected" position. As said previously it was all made in 2 and a bit hours with only classical music and glasses of water to keep me going! I don't know the scale as I started from the ground up and so the wheels of the Topol were scaled down to the width of the tubing and everything went from there. Hope you enjoy! Sam
  8. Hello! I am about to order some paints for my Tamiya 1/35 Stug IV. I have found a nice site i want to order paints from, and i see alot of humbrol paints. I am going to make it with the original gray paint that was used on the panzers when they were out of the factory, but i don't know what the name of the paints i need are named. Could anyone help me out with which i need? I looked at the paint pattern in the instructions, but i don't want it dark yellow. And i'm going to use a normal paintbrush. Thanks in advance - Robin
  9. UPDATE 1: Hey folks, This will be my first WIP thread on this forum. I picked up this cheap kit for a quick build. It's a very old tooling so I'll try and do what I can to improve it somewhat. I plan to practise my weathering skills using my airbrush. I'm quite new to airbrushing.. only dug the equipment out of the garage a few weeks ago and have had to replace the needle, etc. This will be one of my first projects that won't be brush-painted. Just something to bare in mind. Moving on, I did actually own a late 70s rubber bumper MGB GT once (in 1:1 scale) so that was another reason for picking up this kit. Just remember this if you're thinking of restoring a classic MG; MG stands for 'money gobbler'. Anyway, enough waffle.. a detailed inbox of this kit has already been covered somewhere in this forum, so I won't bother. Here are some pics of the little progress so far. (Below) The first few steps of the build are complete (bar the detailing) but I seem to have mislayed one of the leaf springs. I've been using the pot of Ever Build wood filler to weather the wheel arches, which you can see in a picture further down the page. I'm kind of experimenting with weathering, and I thought the coarseness of the woddfiller would give a good dirt effect... I'll be using Vallejo paints primarily for this build. My workbench (below). I've been using the Revell Contacta Liquid with built-in brush.. basically because I've used all my ther polycement glues.. need to buy some more... Here a pic of the wheel-arch weathering I've embarked on (below). As you can see I've applied a thin layer of the coarse wood filler where necessary to give the kind of surface you find in the wheel-arches. It'll be painted a dirty brown colour later, after I paint everything black and pick out the other colours... Appologies for the massive pics and the slightly poor lighting in one or two of them.. I couldn't find a way of reducing the size, and my camera displays the images brighter than they actually are. Anyways, I've ordered a spair leaf-spring from Airfix and as soon as that comes through the letter-box I'll do another update on this one. That's it for now though, Thanks in advance for any comments, Andy.
