  1. Hallo https://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Bf-109G/JG77-MTO/pages/Messerschmitt-Bf-109G2R3Trop-1.JG77-White-3-Horst-Schlick-WNr-10533-abandoned-Bir-el-Abd-AF-4th-Nov-1942-02.html https://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Bf-109G/JG77-MTO/pages/Messerschmitt-Bf-109G2R3Trop-1.JG77-White-3-Horst-Schlick-WNr-10533-abandoned-Bir-el-Abd-AF-4th-Nov-1942-01.html https://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Bf-109G/JG77-MTO/pages/Messerschmitt-Bf-109G2R3Trop-1.JG77-White-3-Horst-Schlick-WNr-10533-abandoned-Bir-el-Abd-AF-4th-Nov-1942-0A.html This build went straight forward actually. The issues in the kit, now well noticed, are: The details of the cockpit as oxygen-regulator is not correct. The piping for this also not. I tried to make it better, but far from exact. Next time it will be better. The stick is too big. I used resin from Quickboost. The details came from Quintas and I omitted mostly Eduard etched parts. The airframe has a weird flaw. Underside of the wing, central position. Here you find a rib. This rib, which comes from the molded part, is far offset. Not parallel, oblique. If you would correct it, your wing is one side 2mm to big, on the other side too short. This matter should look like this, but far away! Other shortcomings are the one sided perfect fitting starbord, the port side just somehow. This matters on the gear legs, the cooler flaps at the trailing edge, the elevator and so on. I can sum up, that the mold is asymmetric! Well so far. Have a look. The model represents the aircraft of pilot Horst Schlick in Africa 1942. Happy modelling
  2. My second rendition of the Focke Wulf Ta152H this is the H-1 version from the Zoukei Mura company. This kit is also an OOB project, although compared to my previous Hobby 2000 build, was a bit of a nightmare. For a 1/48 kit it seems to be over engineered, probably because it's a down scale of their 32nd kit!! As with my previous build I used the Quinta 3D decal set and Reskit wheel set plus Quickboost exhausts and lots of cussing!!! I had intended to have the cowlings open and detailing the engine, however due to grief it caused me trying to get the engine and accessories 'shoe horned' into the fuselage I decided against that option!!!! I had to leave so much of the interior detail out it left an engine missing parts, probably down to my poor build. The detail in the kit is great but unfortunately so much is lost when everything is built up, unless you opt to do the skeletal version shown on the side of the box. Accuracy wise the ZM version is probably more accurate than the Hobby 2000 kit especially around the rear fuselage/fin area, the Hobby 2000 kit being too wide which results in an overly thick fin. The machine portrayed is, the well known, Green 9 Wrk. No.150168, Stab. / JG. 301, Neustadt - Glewe, April 1945. Apologies last image is unfortunately out of focus!! Thanks for looking.....................Cheers Andy
  3. This is the first of my Focke Wulf Ta152s, it's the long in the tooth Trimaster / Dragon / Italeri / Hobby 2000 kit. Although old it has stood the test of time really well. I opted to build the H-0 version which entails filling some underwing inspection panels and scribing (badly!!) a larger panel. This is shown on the instruction sheet in 1/48 allowing the making of a template. Two small circular panels also require filling on the upper wing, this then converts the H-1 back to an H-0 model. The kit was built virtually OOB, with the addition of the Quinta 3D decal set, Reskit wheels and EagleCal decals, I wasn't happy with the kit spinner shape so replaced it with one from the Eduard Fw190D-11 kit. It appears this particular machine wasn't fitted with a pressurised canopy, so Eduard to the rescue again I used a canopy from their Fw190 family, I chose not to have the cowlings open spoils the lines of this sleek looking machine. This particular machine is Wrk No 150007, Stab./JG.301, Stendal Germany 1945. Many thanks for looking Cheers Andy
  4. Hallo Has anyone proper drawings or photos of the oxygen regulator equipment? In a Messerschmitt Bf-109 Gustav. From version 2 onward to 14. I think they are all the same. Not sure about it. At the right side of the cockpit. In my books here I lack this details. Since I doubt about the details in my Eduard kits. Thanks in forward Happy modelling
  5. Hallo This is my first Messerschmitt 109 F-2 in 1/48. I built so many 109, but never an F-2. Anyway in this building there are some flaws in the instruction. I changed the etched parts to Quintas. Makes sense really! It is a real upgrade of interior. More precisely. Have done many 109s now, but Quintas excels all etched parts. In detail and color! Plus it is easier to handle! Saves a headache, at least. This aircraft represents the a/c from Peter Bremer in fall of 1941 in Russia. https://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Bf-109F/JG54/pages/Messerschmitt-Bf-109F2-2.JG54-Black-12-Peter-Bremer-Russia-1941-01.html The camo was a challenge. But today I take every challenge of camo, since I know already what to do. If you are interested in detail, so look at my WIP: Take a look: Happy modelling
  6. Hallo After looking at many pics from https://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Bf-109F/JG54.html or any Geschwader, any variant, I see, that stencils as thought, are not on the aircraft. By any operative camo, they were simple overpainted. In many cases also the fuel ones. The type-plate is there. The only constant. Has anyone an other idea? Happy modelling
  7. Hallo This will be a long WIP. Since I intend to write here ablut my 1/48 modelling of Eduard kits in this versions. Starting with a F-2 from Rusia. It will have a brown, green, grey camo. With Montex mask. A G-2 vetsion also with brown green from Africa and a G-6 in brown and green from Sicily. All nstional insignia will be sprayed or by HGW wet transfer done. I replace the etched parts by Quintas. Well , I will start on Monday. In summery this WIP will culminate in 10 models or more. Happy modelling
  8. Hallo Here is my 4th Eduard kit in 1/43. This model represents the a/c found in Pilsen 1945. I used Montex masks, since I liked them. The building process was quite straight. I used etched parts for the Hasegawa kit, since for this issue from Eduard overtree none were available. Masks for the canopy from Montex with adaption. Resin parts are the revi 16B, the pitot tube and control stick. The insignia are sprayed with Montex masks. The stencils are wet transfers from HGW. Well, that is it. I improved a lot during this series and learned a lot. Have a look and enjoy it. Happy modelling
  9. Hallo Here is my 3rd Eduard kit in 1/43. This model represents the a/c from Hermann Graf in Pitomnik, close to Stalingrad in September 1942. I used decals from an unknown company, since I wanted any aircraft from this area and era. The building process was quite straight. I used etched parts for the Hasegawa kit, since for this issue from Eduard overtree none were available. Masks for the canopy any left over for any kit with adaption. Resin parts are the revi 16B, the pitot tube and control stick. The insignia are HGW wet transfer, also the stencils. Well, that is it. I improved a lot during this series and learned a lot. Have a look and enjoy it. Happy modelling
  10. One of my older models, built during the pandemic at the end of 2020. Even though the registration is 10+03, the aircraft was actually the first of three A350-900s delivered from Airbus to Lufthansa Technik for VIP conversion. At the time of building the kit, the aircraft was not yet delivered to the Luftwaffe, hence no christian name. This is the only A350 in the 'old' livery also seen on the A340s and A320 family fleet, 10+01 and 10+02 have a revised livery with more modern titles and the winglets completely painted in Germanys national colours. I used the Revell A350-900 kit, decals from 8A Decs and added some fine metal mesh into the engine inlets. Since it was brand new at the time, I did not apply any weathering.
  11. Hallo This model got also a brasin engine & cockpit. Since it is my second model in line with the same equipment it was easier. I used Montex masks and HGW wet transfers. The aircraft represents an aircraft of https://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Bf-109G/JG51/pages/Messerschmitt-Bf-109G6R6-Erla-8.JG51-Black-2-unknown-pilot-0A.html Now take a look on the model:
  12. Hallo This model is my second one with this kit. Since I learned on my first model, it is a much faster build as the first one. I started at the 8th of August and the pictures you see are from the 9th of August evening. I choose the vision improved Erla hood, the Mk 108 gun (U4) and trop tank (R3) and gun pods R6. What did I learn from the first kit: The instruction from Eduard concerning Brasin cockpit & engine are full of flaws. Starting with the cut out, and ends on installation. The cockpit tube by itself would be too deep inside, in my first model you see it. The front bulkhead of the cockpit simple you cannot install. Since the length of the sidewall is equal to the floor. The floor has a cut out for the bulkhead, therefore you cannot install it. In my first kit I trimmed the sidewall and got so in quite a trouble. In my case finally I checked it with the bulkhead from the engine set. I found out it is much better to leave the bulkhead out. The engine installation here I used the canon tunnel for a 0,8mm brass wire to support the engine mount due to filigree engine bearer. At the engine: Each single part you have to install, does not fit. Even the diameter from etched parts. All sockets from auxiliary units you have to sand or rasp down until it fits. This is boring and with the risk to break some details. So after all this, you may see the result. Happy modelling My first kit: And now the results from my second kit:
  13. Hallo This is my finished Bf-109 G-6 with WGr.21. The kit is Eduard in the special scale of 1/43. Cockpit, engine, weapons and wheels are Brasin from Eduard. I had no decals for an aircraft with this weapons. So I decided to create an model for the Unknown Pilot. The national insignia are all sprayed with Montex masks. The stencils are from HGW wet transfers. Here I did no gloss varnish. I worked only with the setting fluid from Microscale. My WIP: Oh to say: Since I have seen so many photos, I never have seen black panel lines. Therefore I did not do it either! https://www.asisbiz.com/Bf-109G.html So have a look and enjoy. To add: The book you see is my most important book when working on a 109. So I can tell you, you see an aircraft from the Werknummer block of 167.000. The compressed air hatch for the Mk 108 is there, but closed and not used. Happy modelling
  14. Hallo This is now a special build. Scale approx. 1/43 as Eduard made some years ago a special kit, some say a flaw. A kit full of flaws, I was told. I think it is worth to build.....? Anyway I bought full of joy some 4 overtree kits. With Brasin sets too. I thought to throw them away. Brasin Engine, cockpit, weapons,gear.... But this would be a waste of money. Now I will build them all 4 kits. I start with a G-6. The painting will be with some Montex masks I have already here. Not sure yet, which one. To make things really heavy, with Brasin cockpit and engine. Weapons also with Brasin set. Maybe rocket launcher underwing. As I said, all of them is home. I will do my best, to learn how to install properly the Brasin sets. I started yesterday. Today after some hiking I did also some hours working on this matter. See what it is! Happy modelling
  15. The red gear was for GM or MW boost? Was the red gear a standard for this issue or just a maybe ? Thank you Happy modelling
  16. This build was a bit of a nightmare, due to me!!! I had looked at this kit and thought ' no, not for me' too big, not enough display space, then blow me I had bought the ICM 1/48 He111Z 'Zwilling' plus extras Eduard Big ED photoetch, Quickboost Exhausts and Brassin Wheels. The kit consists of two of ICM's He111H-6s plus extra sprues. You end up with a lot of spare parts!!!! Basically you build the two H-6s one less port and one less starboard wing, join them together with new mid wing section - easy??? I built the kit not following ICMs build instructions, big mistake. I hit loads of problems with the engine cowlings and nose transparencies! How much filler I needed to use was ridiculous but I guess it was my fault?? I had to modify the upper transparency as ICM supplied the H-6 type instead of the correct H-16/20 transparency. I soldiered on to the end, not that I'm happy with the result but judge for yourself!!!! The machine represented is Wk. Nr. 2699, LLG2, Eastern Front 1943. DIORAMA POSSIBLITIES!!!!!!!! Cheers Andy
  17. This is the ICM 1/48 Gotha Go242B-2 built oob with the addition of Eduards photoetch and Space 3D decal. The glider represented is from Schleppgruppe 4 1943. Cheers Andy
  18. Have you ever wanted to make your own custom masks for your Luftwaffe aircraft, but your attempts ended up as utter failure/markings were too difficult to draw by hand? Well, don't dispair anymore! I found this link which allows you to download to your pc the exact letter/number font for Luftwaffe aircraft! Simply download the file, open the RAR and install and font, it'll install itself on the font list on Word. You have numbers, letters, and two types of Balkan Crosses! Once you open Word and select the font, "Blockschrift fur Flugzeug", you'll be able to print the desired codes, cut them and make your own masks. https://fonts2u.com/blockschrift-fr-flugzeuge.font
  19. Hallo This is my third Wingsy kit in 1/48. And this is also my third Messerschmitt Bf-109 Emil E-1. Why not another version yet? The other versions from the Emil are slightly over present. So, the Emil-1 was in use in Spain onward to Poland, France and Britain. So this is the third now. The first in this batch from France. Again I used masks from Montex, Quintas cockpit. I prefer Quintas, as etched parts. Quintas has also for this version correctly two versions of dashboard. The RLM02 and the RLM66. So you may choose for a factory fresh or repair aircraft. Well, the splinter camo took was far out not as difficult as the early splinter from Poland. The next batch of Emils are Eduard Emils. Don't be afraid of my dog in the background! Have a look and enjoy! Happy modelling
  20. Hallo Now again one 109 Emil. This time it will be an Eduard kit. With more parts as Wingsy Kits. Now I have to consider the markings I want. The aircraft from TrGr 186 Feldwebel Kurt Ubbein is in question. But as I see, there is a question unanswered. The color of the 13 and the hair of the witch. In my collection from Sky Decals this color is yellow. Eduard says red. https://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Bf-109E/TG186/pages/Messerschmitt-Bf-109E1-6.J186-Red-14-showing-the-overpainted-emblem-Germany-1940-01.html https://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Bf-109E/TG186/pages/Messerschmitt-Bf-109E1-6.J186-Red-14-showing-the-units-emblem-Germany-1939-01.html https://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Bf-109E/TG186/pages/Messerschmitt-Bf-109E1-6.J186-Red-14-showing-the-units-emblem-Germany-1940-01.html https://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Bf-109E/TG186/pages/Messerschmitt-Bf-109E1-6.J186-Yellow-13-Kurt-Ubben-Avions-189-Page-15.html https://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Bf-109E/TG186/pages/Messerschmitt-Bf-109E1-6.J186-Yellow-14-Germany-winter-1939-RLM70-71-and-65-0A.html When you make your own opinion, I think that Eduard is correct! Happy modelling
  21. Hallo This is my second Wingsy kit in 1/48. And this is also my second Messerschmitt 109 E-1. Why not another version yet? The other versions from the Emil are slightly over present. So, the Emil-1 was in use in Spain onward to Poland, France and Britain. So this is the second now. Again I used masks from Montex, Quintas cockpit and here Kelik cockpit too. In contrast to Quintas the seat belts from Kelik broke quite easy! I prefer from this experience Quintas much more. Quintas has also for this version correctly two versions of dashboard. The RLM02 and the RLM66. So you may choose for a factory fresh or repair aircraft. Well, the splinter camo took me some time to mask. Have a look and enjoy! Happy modelling
  22. Hallo This is an early Emil, so all interior is RLM 02! This is my first Wingsy Kit model. The accuracy overall is quite good. Fine detail. The parts are differently designed as all other kits I know. Some ideas are good and a really wonderful design, others are not so good. Like all cooler-housings are split in three parts. Two sideward parts and one top plate. Generaly a very good fit. Specially the wing root. The gear insert to fix at the wing is simple wrong. The square insert is simple much too smal for the square hole! Here you need a mass of CA, to fix it. I used Montex masks & Quintas interior. Here is to mention positivly, that Quintas has both possibilities, early or late Emil, by using RLM 02 and RLM 66 dashboard and all interior. You may choose. Later on I will build some Eduard Emils, and here all etched parts are only in RLM 66. So, I will have to use the decals, and paint RLM 02. So, you may have a look:
  23. Hi everyone – here is my latest completion, the 1/48 Eduard Messerschmitt Bf-109E-1 Weekend Edition, built with the addition of the Eduard etched fret for this kit. This one was built to accompany the Hurricane I finished back in January (here - Normally I'm a WW1 aircraft builder, so I don’t know too much about Bf-109s... I am sure there are plenty of errors! The model is painted in the markings of a machine of 1/JG26, France, 1940. This scheme seemed a little more interesting due to the green spinner and possible lack of white infills to the fuselage markings. The decals came from an old Aeromaster sheet from 1994 (which I have had in the stash for at least 20 years), which, sadly, silvered a bit (not surprising for decals that are nearly 30 years old..!). The national markings and aircraft number "1" were sprayed using home made masks. The paints used for the finish were all SMS acrylic lacquers (my new favourite paint), but the RLM02 and RLM71 were ‘reddened’ up a little bit, as they were a bit too ‘green’ for my taste. Here's some pics: Overall, this is an excellent kit which goes together nicely (so nicely in fact that I am tempted to start another one!). Apologies for the poor photography (my camera is also pushing 20 years old…). Thanks to all for looking! Cheers, Brad
  24. Hello guys, I'm pleased to show you my latest build, Revell's 1:32 Bf 109G-10 Erla. I used the decals to represent "Yellow 7" of JG 300. This aircraft was captured at the end of WW2 at Prague-Kbely. I followed Eduard's paintintñg scheme instead of the one supplied by Revell.
  25. Now that I finished my build for the Fw 190 group build, I thought it'd be time to start the single remaining kit in my stash, Revell's 1:32 Bf 109G-10 Erla. Colour scheme will be of Yellow 7 from JG300 at the end of the war in Europe. I'll be following Eduard's painting instructions for this aircraft. Boxart: Eduard's painting instructions. Photo of the real aircraft. Cockpit and propeller done. I managed to break the clear fuel pipe that goes into the cockpit, but that was fixed with a but of glue. More progress tomorrow!
