  1. #1/2023 New year, new count.... Here´s my dad´s first finished model in 2023. Academy edition of the old Hobbycraft kit, markings from Hi-Decal. Had some True Details (Squadron) T-33 resin seats in our stash. Although they are a bit too low for this kit my dad used them because they have nice molded-on seatbelts. Also added a pitot tube (got a bit too large) from the sparesbox and a plastic rod (got a bit too short) for the fuel drain tube on the rear. No more details added. Painted with Gunze H314 FS35622, Gunze H309 FS34079 and AK Real Color Interior Yellow-Green with some drops of yellow and white. Build thread here https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235117728-bay-of-pigs148-lockheed-t-33a-fuerza-aérea-revolucionaria/ After a bunch of Cuban aircraft were destroyed by airstrikes and an invasion became imminent, the FAR added additional field camo to (some of) their remaining aircraft for better ground coverage, each looked different. If the info is true, "703" was one of only three operational T-33. It was credited with the downing of two B-26 Invaders (FAL927 and 935) on April 17th 1961. 3. Hello all, just finished this one after a long period of mojo loss. The kit showed its age, the mouldings were quite basic and not the best fit but with filler and sanding it came together in the end quite well. The metal frets were very bendy compared to modern offerings, which are more sturdy and easier to use so I didn’t use all the parts. It’s finished with Xtracolor paints and varnishes with the decals coming from Hi-Decal. Once finished I think I discovered a mistake on the decal sheet but it was too late to fix it on the model. Hope you like it Pete I think after looking at photos of the real aircraft the wing markings are transposed. The roundal should be on the right. However the Peruvian Su-20 and Su-25 both have them on the left!? Thanks for looking, Pete.
  4. #17/2017 Number 3 of the Persian quartet finished. From 1960 to 1961 the IIAF got in total 52 Sabres, F-25 and F-30 Blocks fitted with either 6-3 hard wings or F-40 wings. Initially they were in a nmf livery. 1965/66 they were flown to Israel and overhauled by IAI (think of that nowadays...) They also received the Asia Minor camo and were used then as trainers and fighterbombers. The last ones stayed in service until 1971. Some found new use in the Ethiopian Airforce. Hasegawa F-40 kit, the same paints used as with the Phantom, Gunze H311 FS36622, Gunze H309 FS34079, Tamiya XF-64 Red Brown and Tamiya XF-55 Deck Tan mixes with XF-59 Desert Yellow. Decals from Hi-Decal, some stencils are provided on this sheet, the rest came from the RoG Canadair Mk.6 kit. Not all stencils are correct and some are missing but you gotta use what you have. The main seat is from Quickboost, the rear part from the kit seat. The model shows an aircraft of the 41st TFS at 4th TFB in Vahdati in 1969. 5. Hi, Here is my last two builds : two F-86F-25 (F-40 wing) from 1/72 Hobbyboss kit. And with the HiDecal. Thanks to diego for the quality of its decalsheet. The first is from an Imperial Iranian Air Force plane. , Kamina AB, Congo, 103rd TFS, 1963. The second is from an Imperial Ethiopian Air Force (ex-Iran), Asmara AB, 1st Fighter Bomber Sqn, 1972. I hope you will like it. If you like it, you can find the complet set of photos there : Iranian, Ethiopian. Alain.
  6. #6/2020 Another big beast is done. The new Il-28 from Bobcat Models (former Xuntong) with markings from Hi-Decal. The kit is basically ok. The clear parts could be a bit clearer. Fuselage fit is good, but engine nacelles, nacelles to wings and tailplane parts need some filler. Painted with MRP Saudi Color FS30475, Light Sky Blue FS35526 and Dark Green FS34079. Used Eduard seatbelts for the cockpit, EZ Line and fishing line for the antenna wires. 8. #25/2019 After P-47, F-84, F-86 and F-4, this is my father´s newest addition to our IIAF collection. He used the GWH kit, which is mostly very nice, together with the freshly released decal sheet from Hi-Decal. Painted with Gunze Orange with a touch of red and AK Real Color Aluminium. Seatbelts are from Eduard. Added a pylon for the TT system from an abandoned Hobby Boss F-80 project. Sadly there is no aftermarket stuff for the Ford/Powell LD-4R TT, should there ever be one we will most probably retrofit the model with it. Build thread here https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235059720-persian-thunder148-lockheed-t-33a-shooting-star-target-tug-imperial-iranian-airforce/ Between 1956 and 1965 the IIAF received a bunch of T-33 and RT-33. In the early 60ies, four T-33 and two RT-33 were converted to TT in Italy. When the IIAF introduced the F-5 with their supersonic aerial darts, the TT equipment was removed again from the (R)T-33s. Several IIAF T-33 were inherited by the IRIAF in 1979. One of them was recently displayed as a "drone".. 9. Having built four IIAF subjects in 2017, my dad now continues the theme by building a colourful T-33 TT with the GWH kit and the recently released Hi-Decal sheet. 10. Su-27S/SK/UB Flankers (72-050 & 48-022) 1:48 & 1:72 Hi-Decal Line There are quite a few Su-27 Flankers models out there, however the decal options in the kits tend to be pretty standard. If you want something a little different the Hi-Decal have a sheet out in 1/72 & 1/48. The options on the sheet are; Su-27S Flanker B "1953" 1st Fighter Sqn, Ethiopian Air Force with kill marking 2010 Su-27S Flanker B "608" 6th Fighter Squadron Eritrean Air Force 2005 Su-27S Flanker B "C110" 13th Fighter Squadron Angolan Air Force 2006 Su-27 SK Flanker B "TS-2701" 11th Fighter Squadron, Indonesian Air Force 2003; Su-27UB Flanker C "I 100" 13th Fighter Squadron Angolan Air Force 200 The sheets provide all the national markings as well as stencils for each option. Registration, sharpness and colour density are all good, with a thin gloss carrier film cut close to the printed areas. Recommended for your next Flanker build if you like a little something different to the kit options. Review sample courtesy of

Tamiya kit, main markings from Hi-Decals, stencils from the kit and sparesbox, as with the other IIAF birds, not all stencils are completely correct and some are missing. 15. #15/2017 My father wanted to build a Phantom for a longer time now. Finally he decided to build one and we chose an IIAF scheme, looks good and it is linked to my mother´s past. When she was a young women in the 60ies she was married to a Persian and lived in Tehran. Due to a heart condition her husband died after some years and she moved back to Austria. Back then one of her brothers-in-law was Maj.Gen. Abolhassan FATTAHI, Commander of the IIAF Depot. Thanks to the Internet I found out that he made it to Lt.Gen. and emigrated with his family to the US. He passed away in 2013 and is buried now together with his wife at the Andrew Chapel Cemetary in Dranesville/Virginia. https://billiongraves.com/grave/Abolhassan-Fattahi/504970#/ Used the good old Hasegawa kit. Main markings from Hi-Decal, some stencils from the kit, the rest from Icarus Decals. Compared with pics of the real a/c the stencils don´t match the Iranian ones 100% but good enough. Resin seats from Quickboost (Aires) which are a bit too short, so my dad but some plastic sheet under them. Some PE details for the canopies from Airwaves. Camo with Gunze H311 FS36622, mixed Tamiya XF-55 Deck Tan with XF-59 Desert Yellow, XF-64 Red Brown and Gunze H309 FS34079 The model shows an aircraft of 11th TFS (Fighter Weapons School), TFB 1 Mehrabad 1978. During the following Iran-Iraq war it saw extensive action and was credited with a MiG-23 kill. 16. Besides the IIAF Sabre this will be the next near future project which will make the Persian quartet complete, shiny F-47 and F-84 and camo F-4 and F-86
  17. After the MiG-29 rollout, here´s my dads next jet project. He wanted to build a Phantom for a longer time now. Besides that the subject is related to my mother´s past, how so will be revealed when the model is finished. Gonna use the old Hasegawa kit with either Hi-Decals or CAM Decals.
