  1. The concrete was done by building a frame with Balsa then i filled it with plaster of paris and then sprayed it with plasticote stone effect spray. Once dry I thinned some tamiya XF1 and airbrushed to add a bit of depth and shadow.
  2. Sorry for the state of the photos but My normal camera is on the blink so had to use the Iphone. The base is scratch built apart from the hut which is courtesy of scaledale,
  3. Hi All Looking for a bit of help from the diorama dudes out there. As most of the kits I build are of WW2 Aircraft I often like to present them on their own base depicting a stationary Aircraft parked as most were on Grass. Currently I will use a Landscape mat then apply PVA and sprinkle on a static grass dusting to break it up ,it looks ok but is a bit of a pain to do and seems to shed bits as time goes on. Surely there must be a better way , perhaps a mat all pre done that simulates a grass airstrip and not a snooker table , I found this online http://www.polakmodel.com/en/vyrobky/main/Meadows-type-A/and it looks perfect but they don' t ship to the UK. Can anyone recommend a product or a better way of achieving this effect. Thanks In advance
  4. Beautiful , well made , well presented and definitely one of the best I have seen. Welcome to the red crowbar brigade
  5. this is a fine looking model , but wait red crowbar. oh the humanity
  6. nice build . Good job on the chipping on the wing root
  7. Thanks for all the likes , I was hoping the exhaust staining would be a bit more oily than sooty , any Ideas
  8. OOOOOOOH was the invoulentry noise that came out of my mouth when I saw this . You got mad skills as all the young people say
  9. I think in terms of the airfix new tools this is the one with the most flaws however these are very nice.Well done
  10. Picked this on up at Duxford earlier this year , bought it a bit of a panic and didn’t really have a close look at what is was buying. My Heart sank when I saw the screws holes and embossed product branding on it but as I started the build it went together very easily and the holes didn’t give me too much trouble. Unfortunately one of the beautifully detailed crew figures came with 2 left arms so decided to save one of them for a single seater kit . Made up the camo as I went along and tried out a couple of different methods of chipping and weathering so the accuracy will be all over the place. Last pic shows the Airfix defiant just as a Scale comparison
  11. Nice build . Love the variations in finish . For the nose weighting issue have you tried Three Green nose weight compound ?
