  1. This comes from the "Sea Fury in action" book. BTW when the book came out 25 years ago, Dan Hagedorn complained to the publishers that the artwork was bogus and that no Furies had ever been painted in FAEC markings.
  2. This must be the first EVER book published on a HAF/RHAF subject by a major publisher: https://www.casematepublishers.com/colours-and-markings-of-hellenic-spitfires-1943-1954.html#.WrLp1z8pLIU Out in January 2019. I wonder what the future holds as far as MMP Books is concerned...
  3. First another photo: That's the photo file from his website (right click and save): http://www.ole-nikolajsen.com/TURKISH FORCES 2004/BR19fotos.pdf And finally another link (also in English with Turkish AF Breguet 19 info including serials, names, etc): http://www.tayyareci.com/digerucaklar/turkiye/1923ve50/breguet19.asp HTH (somewhat...)
  4. I mean that she flew aircraft #19. FWIW Ole Nikolaesen (far more knowledgeable in Turkish AF matters) states that all her operational missions during the Dersim Rebellion (which is why all these photos of her in the Breguet were taken in the first place) were flown in aircraft #19...
  5. Might not seem correct to you but that's how the Chechoslovak AF aircraft were painted. See below: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?/topic/183800-pre-wwii-czech-color-question/ BTW I checked modelforum's 1918-1939 section referenced above and it confirms the use of Aluminium Dope for the undersides. http://www.modelforum.cz/viewforum.php?f=310 I don't know what the original KP instructions indicated but the last reissue of the Letov S.16 by KP Models (kit 72091) which included Czechoslovakian, Latvian & Turkish markings gave the undersides of the former as Aluminium and the later two as light blue which is in-line with the colours that other Turkish AF types of the era (Bre.19 etc ) were delivered and therefore seems entirely plausible.

  7. Out in January: http://www.lanasta.eu/Shop/product/230/warplane-plus01.html
  8. It's in here: https://www.amazon.com/Secrets-Signals-Intelligence-During-Studies/dp/0714651761 But there is only one sentence; no further details about serials etc...
  9. The only Armee de l'Air unit in Indochina that operated C-45 aircraft was ELA 52 (Escadrille de Liaison Aerienne) based at Tan Son Nhut from 1948 to 1954. AFAIK they had UC-45Fs , but I cannot find a photo online... There are photos of AdA C-45s in Indochina here: https://www.amazon.fr/Laviation-militaire-française-Indochine-Collection/dp/B000X6IUVW/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1503755486&sr=1-2 Maybe someone that has the book could help... HTH (somewhat)... PS I've also heard about this story; the aircraft had Radio Direction Finding gear fitted to monitor Viet Minh Radio Transmitters...
  10. BTW Dan J Dunn is Brushpainter aka Dancho.
  11. http://www.dogma72.com/?p=2033 If you click on the blue FOUR out of FIVE stars. in the above link it will take you to his amazon review; his name is there...
  12. Actually it's not: http://www.dogma72.com/?p=2033
  13. http://www.dogma72.com/?p=1717 I wonder if this had something to do with Mr. Millman's disapppearance...
  14. AFAIK Matchbox kits sent to Alanger were: PK-6 FW-190APK-9 Bell AH-1GPK-13 P-51D MustangPK-17 Me Bf-109EPK-21 Me-262PK-26 Henschel Hs-126PK-73 Panther Ausf GPK-74 Panzer III Ausf LPK-84 Stuart HoneyPK-85 Sdkfz 232 Radio Car PK-88 Krupp ProtzePK-109 Ju-188 PK-120 A-20G/J Havoc/Boston IV PK-121 A-10A Thunderbolt IIPK-122 F-16A/BPK-130 Tornado F3PK-161 Graf SpeePK-162 HMS ExeterPK-163 USS San DiegoPK-351 BismarckPK-403 He-111HPK-404 F-4K/M Phantom IIPK-406 F-14A Tomcat Note that Alanger stopped trading in 2008, so all the above are probably scrap metal by now... PS We have beeped up yet another review thread.
  15. Did you see the photo that I posted? It was taken in 1947. That's the exact aircraft that Revell's markings depict. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/122565-revell-04102-blenheim-mk-i-if And BTW the last MkIs were retired in 1957...
  16. That's the exact aircraft that Revell's decals depict: Note that post WWII, Blenheims were operated in second line roles only, therefore if you build BL-188 with the Revell markings, external bomb racks and skis should NOT be fitted. The Revell kit is a rebox of a Frog kit from 1968 which gave you markings for a Winter War Finnish Blenheim (hakaristi et al) hence their inclusion... Ignore Revell's instructions; the preserved aircraft's colours & markings are accurate.
  17. Seen at Kavala Airshow today (massive photo): " /></p> https://el-gr.facebook.com/kavala.airshow/
  18. Now here's something that I didn't expect: https://www.aviationmegastore.com/brewster-f2a-buffalo-and-export-variants-expected-mid-july-2017-9780996825856-ginter-9780996825863-ww2-us-aircraft/product/?action=prodinfo&art=146278 And something that I did (don't forget there's a new 1/48th scale kit coming soon): https://www.aviationmegastore.com/northrop-a17-the-complete-history-of-the-northrop-attack-planes-and-its-export-derivatives-9789086162710-lanasta-9789086162710-us-prop-aircraft/product/?action=prodinfo&art=146404
  19. And still waiting... The author occasionally posted on Hyperscale's "Plane Talking" as David G. but seems to have dropped off the face of the earth. Oh well...
  20. FYI Classic's Air War over Spain published 20 years after Howson's book and written by a Spanish author, lists 20 PWS-10 & 4 RWD-13 as the only Polish aircraft deliveries to Spain...
  21. ' Yes you are both right. It does come with the para brake housing. BTW never realised that the Italeri rebox also had the hump sprue from the "M/N" kit...
