I use Testors Universal Acrylic thinner to thin Polly Scale since it's the recommended thinner to use. I find I need to thin Polly Scale a bit more then Testors Acryl. Polly Scale tends to clump and spit out. I've heard that Polly Scale sprays beautifully and has finer pigments but that's not really the case. It seems thicker then other acrylics and takes a bit more thinner to spray without clumping.

Hi all, Is anyone familiar with Gunze Aqueous H-38 Steel Red? Is it the exactly the same as Tamiya X-10 Gun Metal acrylic? I'm considering ordering some and would like to see some pictures of Gunze H-38 Steel Red painted on something, possibly next to something painted Tamiya X-10 Gun Metal. Thanks.

The External Tank(ET) foam starts out an off white shade. It darkens to a slightly brown/yellow pancake batter shade, then goes to a deeper yellow, then more orange, then orange brown, then brown. Here are some examples of the varying stages in the ET's color.

I'm currently building a Revell 1/144 shuttle/stack kit. I've made some modifications to the orbiter. I re-shaped the fronts and rears of the OMS pods, cut out the opening between the wing elevons, scribed the payload door segments and lengthened and removed the hinge from the body flap. With a bit of work the Revell orbiter will look quite accurate. I do however like the Airfix stack kit, it can be built easier since most of these modifications I made on the Revell kit already exist on the Airfix orbiter OOB.

Rob, I'm new here at Britmodeller and just came across this thread. It looks like you are off to a great start. I'm also building a 1/144 Revell shuttle/stack as STS-133. I have a build thread going on the ARC Forum. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress. Mike.
