  1. 2nd of the mojo restorers just finished. Straight forward, no nonsense OOB build. Only addition were some basic Tamiya tape belts. Hand brushed with Revell aquacolours (y) (And yes, I KNOW Airfix forgot the rear view mirror. If I do another, I'll add one )
  2. Been a while since I've posted a build on here. Not through lack of activity, hut everything I've done recently has gone horribly wrong for one reason or another. So, in an effort to stop my mojo completely disappearing I needed a couple of quick no nonsense builds. And this was one of them. Just a straight forward OOB build, with no bells and whistles. And I'm glad I did. What a great kit. Certainly the best Airfix moulding I've built so far. Only addition was some basic Tamiya tape belts. Hand brushed with Revell aquacolours (y)
  3. Appreciate the kind comments. Ta very much peeps (y)
  4. And another recent build. Airfix 1/48 Messerschmitt Bf109E-1. Again hand brushed with Revell Aquacolours and finished with a spray of Humbrol Mattcote. 3rd of these Airfix Emils I've done now. Perhaps not the most refined kit of this old bird on the market, but a helluva lot of fun to build (y)
  5. Thanks. It's ICM plastic, so a little on the soft side. But it goes together almost flawlessly. I'll be getting a couple more, for sure (y)
  6. Another recent finish. Hobbyboss 1/72 Eurocopter Tiger UHT. Nice kit, although the pit is rather basic. Hand brushed with Revell Aquacolours and finished with a spray of Humbrol Mattcote (y)
  7. Just finished this little fella. Revell's re-pop of the ICM 1/72 Polikarpov I-153 Chaika. Lovely little kit. Hand brushed with Revell Aquacolours and finished with a spray of Humbrol Mattcote (y)
  8. I use Mig enamel washes. Damn good stuff (y)
  9. Thanks for the comments peeps. Very very much appreciated (y)
  10. Airfix 1/72 Harrier Gr.1. What a fun wee kit this is! Went together with no fuss whatsoever. Hand brushed with Humbrol enamels and Revell Aquacolours. Finished with a spray of Humbrol Satin Cote (y)
  11. Airfix 1/72 Supermarine Swift Fr.5. Have to say, not one of Airfix's best recent efforts. Had major problems closing up the forward fuselage and nose. Ended up having to remove quite a bit of plastic on the inside to get her to close up around the pit. Hand brushed with Humbrol enamels and Revell aquacolours, and finished off with a spray of Humbrol Satin cote (y)
  12. Thanks for all the kind comments, peeps. Mojo is fully restored now (y)
  13. Had a little trouble recently keeping the old mojo going. So did a quickie build of Airfix's wee A-4B Skyhawk to give it a kick up the proverbial! Much fun, a mojo more or less restored (y)
  14. Thanks again for the generous comments, peeps. Means a lot (y)
  15. Many thanks for the kind comments, peeps. Very much appreciated (y) And I couldn't agree more. Airfix need to do a new tooling. I'd buy a shed load!
  16. Thanks peeps. Very much appreciate the kind comments (y)
  17. Just finished these 3 Revell 1/72 Hurricanes. Had a couple of Mk.IIb's and a Sea Hurri IIc in the stash. So, after a wee little bit of kit bashing, finished them as a Mk.IIb/trop, Mk.IIc and Sea Hurricane Mk.XII (ish )
  18. Recently finished this dinosaur of a kit. OOB apart from some simple Tamiya tape belts. Rescribed some of the detail, and EZ line used for the rigging (y)
  19. Recently finished this wee fella. Italeri 1/72 Bell UH-1B 'Gunship'. Very small, but a lot of fun (y)
  20. Many thanks for all the generous comments, peeps. Hugely appreciated as always (y) Yes, it's the kit decals I used. And, amazingly for ICM, they were actually very good (y)
  21. Many thanks for the comments. Must confess, I'd never heard of this wee fella myself before I saw it for sale at a show earlier this year. A lot of fun for a fiver, and I'll deffo hunt down the other boxings Fujimi did (y)
  22. Another recent finish. Fujimi 1/72 Tachikawa Ki-36. Basic interior, but a great fun wee kit never the less.
  23. A recent finish. ICM's 1/48 Dornier Do17Z-10. Lovely kit, until you get to the engines and nacelles. If you follow the instructions, attaching the engines to the wings then fitting the cowlings over them, it's just not possible ( of course, it could've been me being a numpty. It's been known! ;( ). Ended up partly dismantling the engines and built the covers around them before they'd go on. Even then, in the closed position the separate panels are a crap fit. Still, got there in the end.
  24. Sorry I haven't replied sooner. Not had a chance to get on here for a while. There's no real secret to it, but what I would say is I've tried Xtracrylics myself, and they really don't brush very well at all. I tend to stick to Revell and Vallejo paints. Just need a little thinning with distilled water, and as long as you use a good quality flat headed brush, you should get a nice finish with them on top of a coat of primer (y)
