  1. It's one way of encouraging the next generation to get involved in the modelling hobby.
  2. Wow, that was fast! Thanks, guys.
  3. Is the current German Air Force known as the Luftwaffe, or is that term restricted to the aircraft of WWII?
  4. Oh, lovely work, Martin. Was the heatshield fitted on all launches or was it omitted on the later ones?
  5. The perfect solution for a modeller! TARDIS in the spare room, kit stash and completed models in the TARDIS! Oh, I so want to hear that!
  6. You're right, it never saw active service. They built twenty examples but then the Luftwaffe high command cancelled the project - not because it was a bad design but because it used the same engine as the Do217 and the Fw190 and the factory building them couldn't supply enough for all three aircraft. As the Bv141's primary role was reconnaissance, it was felt it was not needed as much as a bomber and a fighter.
  7. But they all work as barmen, right? Oops - I promised only to comment on the kit build...
  8. Since you're after the British technical terms, it isn't a Q-tip, it's a cotton bud!
  9. Funny, the Natter strikes me as a feminine characteristic...
  10. I built that kit back in the days when the ratlines came pre-formed. Just looking at the instructions on building a jig then making the ratlines from thread makes my head spin!
  11. Absolutely not - you are doing wonders with a kit which it has to be admitted is a piece of . Maybe that's what sent my thought processes down that route... But I was already feeling guilty about hijacking the thread so I promise from here on in I will only comment on the build!
  12. I feel your pain. I was once trapped on a broken-down escalator for four hours...
  13. Hey, no offence, Stephen! It's the national sterotype - Scots are mean, the English are arrogant and snobbish, Aussies are loud and uncouth...All of which are untrue (well, two of them are anyway!)
  14. I think it's in Clive James's autobiography where he tells of the time he heard the dunny man running up the path, then a few moments later running back down again carrying the full dunny container...Unfortunately he fell over a tricycle which had been left in the way!
  15. The instructions actually say not to cement the cushion in place even if you're using the pilot!
  16. Well, now that the World Cup has finished they have to find employment somewhere. (Anyone who saw the BBC trailers will know what I'm on about!)
  17. The European Rosetta comet probe is about to reach its destination after a ten-year journey: http://home.bt.com/news/sciencenews/space-probe-on-course-to-meet-comet-11363924643332
  18. You wait ages for a new Bv-141 kit then two come along at once! HobbyBoss's new 1:48 version has just touched down at Wonderland so I'm off up there tomorrow...
  19. Like they used to say in the old TVTimes adverts - "I never knew there was so much in it!"
  20. Well, I'm glad everything vent according to plan.
  21. Admit it - you guys have a time machine and actually spent several months building these beauties, then popped back to post the photos at daily intervals! Stunning work...
  22. So...you have an extra Sprue R. I have an extra Sprue C. If this goes on long enough we can get together and have a complete free model! (As it's my idea, I get to keep it at my house first!)
