  1. Was the Ki-83 painted in the Navy Green/Gray colors? or the Army Green/Gray Colors? I have the Special Hobby model kit of the Ki-83 and they recommend Japanese Navy Green/Gray for the colors. I also noticed that in color paintings in Koku-Fan/burin-do publications the Ki-83 is in navy colors. Is this correct?
  2. So do we finally have an accurate Hawker Typhoon in 1/72 scale? How does it compare to scale drawings?
  3. I would think that it would be a "no brainer" to downscale the Lightining and the Sea Vixen to 1/72 scale. I would also like to see accurate re-molds of the Vulcan,F-84F,Defiant, F2H Banshee,Short Stirling, and the DH88.
  4. I have the A-model Kh-20 (X-20M,AS-3) Kangaroo kit. The painting colors for the exterior are very confusing. Were the missiles painted overall green like the wheel hubs on Soviet A/C or natural aluminum? It also instructs you to paint the intake cone in green. If the missile is overall natural metal, should this intake cone be painted green?
  5. I noticed that on the classic airframes kit that the blow in doors on the upper fuselage are recessed. Is this correct for Seahawk when the engine was shut down like on the Harrier? Or is the Trumpeter kit correct in having the doors closed on the upper fusuelage? I have also noteced that other Nene engine aircraft such as the Mistral and the F9F Panther have blow in doors also on the upper fuselage.
  6. I have the MPM Fairey Firefly kit. I noticed that often the landing light on the wing was covered. My references for the aircraft say that the landing light was covered to protect it from the blast of the underwing rockets. What was the color of this cover? Was it permanent or temporarely applied? I would like to know this, because the MPM kit does not have the landing light cut out. So I need to know if I should cut it out, or paint over it if it was covered most of the time. Also was the landing light covered on later Firefly variants (the Firefly Mk.IV,Mk. V, target tugs, and trainer variants.
