  1. Sorry if this is in the wrong area, but felt like this would be a good place to share this; https://www.facebook.com/DocsFriends/?fref=nf A restored B-29 bomber, in the final stages of being cleared to once more fly, whole back story and progress can be found here; http://www.b-29doc.com/ Felt like some guys here might be interested in seeing a piece of history brought back to life and possibly some good reference pictures! Found this and ended up digging in my grandfathers old radar squadron album and this b-29 was part of it back in the 1950s, sadly he passed a few years back and I have no access to the other albums he had of being in the air force to see if he ever flew in it. Hope you guys enjoy!
  2. Sadly I wont, the kit was boxed up and stored at a local train museum that I use to go to and work on it in the back with some of the model train guys there, had things pop up and stopped going for a while then was told they moved and my kit stored somewhere within the museum, but I have no idea if they would still have it after all this time or even remember me.
  3. Amazing start so far, my grandfarther flew as a radio man in one of these, needless to say i`ll be following this build closely. Keep the great work up. -Dustin
  4. Alright, lately i`ve been getting more and more interested in 1946 armor, mainly due to a game I play and recently they released a tank called the Jagdpz e100 which only got my curiosity peaked more . Now obviously it is on the e-100 chassis like the German`s did with many of their tanks using chassis in production for new tank designs. I have known about such 46 armor like the Maus, e-100, and a few others, but never heard of the e-100 chassis being used in a td design and it got me thinking, how many more 46 armor is out there? Now this is not strictly German, any goes, I just want to see and learn about any others that are out there so any info/websites are much appreciated. -Dustin
  5. Looks amazing! Love that red under side paint job, these planes always have caught my interest. Keep up the good work! -Dustin
  6. Haha thanks, being my first fully painted model, I think it came out well, minus the filler I tried between the wings and the main body, didnt sand down well, but eh you learn from your mistakes.
  7. Amazing build and pictures to go with!!!! Had me thinking those where real photos of the actual jet until I read what you had said.
  8. Almost done, just some small touch-ups and have to add the tail fins and she is done!!! Here are some teasers, this will be my last post, the next will be a new forum in the finished forum section.
  9. Small update before taking a break for most the day, the miliput dried and finally got to peel the tape off and trim it up, came out great, used some contour putty and filled in a gap on the turret. I couldn`t resist the urge and had to dry fit some of the road wheels on.
  10. Stumbled upon this video with a song about the dreaded panzer divisions and the blitzkrieg they did, now the video has a lot of good colored footage of German armor in action, but be forewarned the music is metal, not like screamo even I cant stand that, but none the less metal, although the lyrics are good.
  11. Looks like it will be a good build, Tamiya always builds great kits form my experience with them, also love how their instructions include a lot of extra info. Will be watching this build!
  12. Thanks for all the comments so far guys, well after three hours at the bench managed to remove most the milliput from the back plate and removed the right fender, but damaged it a little, so i wont even attempt the other. Now I decided to simply mask off the side and give it a go that way, and worked out great!! Bent a little and cracked it in the middle. First attempt, used to big of a gear >.< Here is the final attempt using the medium size gear, i think it came out great, now to let it dry, then i will cut/chisel the excess as i pull back the masking tape.
  13. Thanks Odd, never thought of using razor blades, actually have a big pack in my truck for a box cutter! I learned the hard way about keeping the gear, which I use to get the zimmerit look, and the smoothing tool lubricated after pulling off a whole corner on the turret.
  14. Wow, that`s amazing!! World War One has always interested me, but as far as collecting any World War One items are to pricey for me at the time
  15. Thanks guys, and yes you're both dead on! Milliput is what i used, right now i`m just using a different hobby knife blade and slowly scrapping it off as well as being gentle and getting under the glued pieces to try and remove them. The only fuss i have about the miliput is having to mix it together, takes a bit and a lot of working to get it nicely mixed, although I love how it goes on and is easy to work with, also the slow dry times allows me to make corrections if needed, so over all i`m loving it.
