  1. Hi Heather, Great that you are tackling the Fokkers for your 1940 obsession. AFAIK both Fokkers had a light grey interior, for which Humbrol 129 is a good match. More info on IPMS NL website: https://www.ipms.nl/artikelen/recensies/vliegtuigen-militair/3337-micromir-fokker-g1-72-english and https://www.ipms.nl/artikelen/nedmil-luchtvaart/vliegtuigen-f/vliegtuigen-f-fokker-g1 (text in Dutch) and on the website of Wilko Jonker (he is no longer with us, but his website is still alive): https://kw.jonkerweb.net/index.php/en/ Cheers, Peter
  2. Hi fellow Britmodellers, A review of the KP Il-2M "Black Death" is available on the website of IPMS The Netherlands: https://www.ipms.nl/artikelen/recensies/vliegtuigen-militair/3113-kp-il-3-english Enjoy, it's a nice kit! Cheers, Peter
  3. Hello Britmodellers, Today a walk around of the S.55 "Yahu" preserved in the Brazilian TAM museum (apparently closed now) is published on the IPMS Netherlands website: https://www.ipms.nl/walkarounds/walkaround-vliegtuigen-props/3089-savoia-marchetti-s55 Cheers, Peter
  4. A few weeks ago, AeroModell released the V1 prototype with the tandem landing gear. That's the one I went for. https://www.aviationmegastore.com/baade-152v-1-73752-aero-modell-con73752-airliner-modelling-kits/product/?action=prodinfo&art=156349 Apparently, it is sold out there, but maybe AeroModell will produce a new batch? Cheers, Peter
  5. Hi Moa, Thanks, I will order the decals at Arctic Models. He has a few other interesting sheets as well (Vickers Vimy Commercial and Westland Wallace 😊 )! I have made several pictures of the resin Classic Plane Fokker F.II for you. I hope the pictures aren't too big for the forum. The box top: The "instructions": only 2 A4 sized sheets with a drawing from a well known book, a potted history including color description and a few pictures but no building instructions. Well, construction is not difficult. 😉 The decals: And finally the resin parts: For your convenience I have made a few detail shots. The wing upper surface is nice, with fine restrained detailing: However, the lower surface has some rough mould edges and air bubbles: The fuselage is almost one part, compete with Siddeley Puma engine (KLM had them according to the "instructions"), and has restrained detailing on its sides: There is a separate engine cover and a one-piece interior part: Next picture: tailplanes with nice ribbing effect, wheels and the bulkhead between cockpit and cabin (it took some time to figure out what it was): And finally engine cover, exhaust pipe, propeller and landing gear struts: That's it. No windows or wing struts. Alfhough you need to make your own struts for strength anyway, it would be nice to have at least an indication of the length, to save awkward measuring activities. Its clearly a home made resin kit, but has potential. I don't know if Detlef Schorsch from Classic Plane is still active, it looks like his website http://www.classic-plane-mrr.de/ is not updated since August last year. I hope you find the pictures useful. And finally something completely different which might be of interest to you: Its the new Avis 1/72 American Gyro AG-4 from the Thirties. This might fit in your interest area. The picture shows my current state of play. Still some filling and sanding to do. It is a bear to build, a bit of a throwback to earlier A-model times with ill fitting parts, but the result will be worth it. Keep up the good work with your other models, I immensely enjoy following your build threads! Cheers, Peter
  6. Hi Moa, Finally, I had the opportunity to react. ;) You made a very good model of the Fokker F.II, impressive! Later, Classic Plane made a resin version of this model, which I have in the stash. if you allow, I would like to order the same decal set at Arctic Models to enable me to build it as the PH-RSL. Cheers, Peter
  7. Great that you already explored the website. Keep up the good work, I will not be able to chime in regularly for the next weeks. Cheers, Peter
  8. Hi Moa, funny you started with blue wheels. My daily job is at NLR and for years we had a model of the F-II in the entrance and in the museum. The collection is in storage now. The volunteers of the museum are running a website. It is in Dutch only, but the following link has some pictures of the F-II: https://www.erfgoednlr.nl/index.php/2-uncategorised/40-galleryserieV1 Cheers, Peter
  9. Hi Moa, Excellent models!!! I also enjoyed your build of the Miles Aerovan. I am normally a lurker here, but now I need to post to make sure you give it the right colour. The PH-RSL was indeed the first research plane of what is now the Netherlands Aerospace Centre NLR ("Nationaal Lucht- en Ruimtevaartcentrum") in The Netherlands. It started in 1919 as "Rijks Studiedienst Luchtvaart" ( government research service aerospace) hence RSL. The aircraft was painted dark blue and not red. Pick any dark blue you want, nobody knows any more. The lettering on the fuselage was white. On the wing it was probably black. Maybe in a white rectangle like KLM at the time, I don't know now, because I'm on a business trip for several weeks and have no access to the few pictures I have of the PH-RLS. What was pioneered in the F-II was 'automatic' test equipment fitted in the cabin: a moviecamera filming an instrument panel. Hope this helps! Cheers from The Netherlands, Peter
  10. He did, in RNLAF colours: http://designer.home.xs4all.nl/models/cougar-32/cougar-1.htm Cheers, Peter
  11. Hi guys, Staying on topic... no one has mentioned Italeri yet! Their Fiat CR42 is very nice. Something that cannot be said of their Spitfire Mk.IX, with its too short nose and horrible wing radiators. Nice interior, though. I fitted it in te Hasegawa MkIX. What about the other 1/72 Italeri WWII fighters? Cheers, Peter
  12. The Zvezda kit is the first ever Hind model which has the asymmetric fuselage design captured correctly. The complete fuselage aft of the cockpit section is tilted 2.5 degrees to the right in frontal view. The model is also incredibly detailed. So this is the one to go for. BTW the main rotor of the Italeri kit is also obviously too small in diameter. Cheers, Peter
