Hello Dave That is a good link there, especially reading through the whole page. It would seem that the "Aircraft Spotter's" cannot agree amongst themselves as to what they are! I remember that at Open Days, at about 0600hrs, they would be three deep and all with their little step ladders to get "A Good Shot", all waiting to get in when we opened the gates to the public. You only need two daft sod's and you have a bidding auction on your hands. Just like those two last year with the £200 + for the C Scale PR. 9 parts. It takes all sorts, makes me wonder are the bidders modellers or collectors? That's my two penny's worth Jeff

That was a good couple of days watching, it was better than the TV. By the time it got into the £70's I thought then that it would finish, but no it kept on rising and rising. When you think that the actual accessory kit sold for about a fiver and then you needed the Matchbox kit to put it on, the winner ended up with a "Gold Plated P.R.9". I would like to bet that it never ended in the stash in the attic, not at that price! I was buying items from the seller at the time and even he was gob-smacked at what he got for the set.
