  1. I hope they did better research on this than they did their Emil series, or you'll be dissipointed for sure
  2. Correct, when Eduard 1st released their 1/48th scale kit there were major controversies over the length on Hyperscale since the kit is 2mm longer than any of the other Emil kits on the market. After some research by both myself and someone else who is very respected it was decided the fuselage was longer. The Eduard 1/48th still has some of the same issues the 1/32nd scale kit has. Slats are too wide (not as bad as the 1/32nd but still wide), incorrect postion of the fuel fuller port on the port side behind the cockpit...oxygen bottle in the cockpit looks too tall....other things I forget. I have 2 E-1's (one gift, one I bought on sale when Great Models died) but no plans on getting more unless I get them cheap. The gifted one is on the bench but it'll be awhile before it's done. I'm running 4 Tamiya 1/48th, a Airfix E-1 1/48th and it as 2014 US Nat's projects (plus 1/72nd Airfix and Tamiya Emil's) and concentrating on the Tamiya/Airfix builds right now since their simpler to do (no engines to fiddle with). The length/inaccurrecy issues were swept under the rug ************************************
  3. Tamiya over Hasgawa 1/48th scale any day. I also prefer Tamiya over Airfix for anything later than a E-3/4/7. You have to replace the canopy on a Airfix if your doing a E-4/7 and I prefer the cockpit in the Tamiya kit over the Airfix one. I hate the Airfix seat (molded on belts look hinky) and like the Tamiya way of inserting the cockpit after you glue the fuselage 1/2's together. I can work the fuselage seamline easier...either scribing it back after I clean it up or building it "clean" Don't even ask me about the 1/47th scale Eduard (and that ain't no typo...I meant 1/47th scale)
  4. AAAHHHH...not RED/Black 8 again...everyone does that....I got pics of a 1/2 dozen other Trop Emil's they could do... I'm already thinking of converting the 1 I have on the bench to a Trop using a spare filter from a Tamiya kit and replacing the canopy with a Fine Molds F one (look the same as a Emil's to me) since Airfix hosed that......and it'll be Yellow 4 or White 6 when it's done if I do it
  5. Panel lines on the top wings might not be missing if it's the Bf 109F-2, it didn't have them like the later F-4
  6. I used Modelmaster RAF Middlestone last time I tried a Bf 109E Trop and was happy with it, plan on using it again next one I try
  7. Only game in town right now is this http://www.hyperscale.com/2011/galleries/h...metal32bg_1.htm Limited run kit, either that or you find a copy of the old Revell MkI on Ebay
  8. They would have been RLM 02, your ok
  9. I just check both sets of canopy parts on mine. While I do think they could be a tad more defined their servicable....my biggest complaint is still the fact Airfix didn't get it right. Hopefully when they do a proper E-3 version canopy that will be like the 1/48th scale kit
  10. To be honest, what's posted is as far along as I've gotten. I do most my modeling on Sunday nites due to my work schedule...just started mine this past weekend. As I said, I'll do a step by step as I go and post any issues with my corrections...I'll post those stab's pics first chance I get but I just triple check my measurements and they came out the same, both mounting holes are the same spot 2 sets of stabs
  11. Tamiya Emil this scale is 1.5MM short in the fuselage behind the cockpit. ICM copied the Tamiya mold and tried correcting that but added the lenght to the wrong frame section. Biggest problem with ICM is their QC sucks. I've bought 3 and never gotten one I could use the fuselage 1/2's
  12. For anyone interested I'm doing a step by step build of this kit, here http://z15.invisionfree.com/72nd_Aircraft/...?showtopic=2114 I just checked the mounting holes for the stabs and they look and measure even on my 2 kits...so this could have been a problem since corrected. I'll take and post photo's of those 1st chance I get to cover that....need to leave for work in a bit and don't have the time I'm neither a Airfix supporter or distractactor, I give honest opinions on any kit I buy
  13. Correct, it was very common for E-1 and E-3 airframes to get the latter style canopy
