  1. Great build Stewie - but same question where did you get that stand from that allows you to work on the build? Thanks
  2. As one of the full-time editors of AFM I have had the great fortune of working with Tom over the past month with regard to a recent article on the display Hawk, so I can certainly validate his kind offer to Britmodeller. The rather daft comment by Nigel Bunker does not apply to all of us on here Tom. Oh yeah, as if there's any further confirmation I assisted the Aviation Workshop too in releasing the kit, so the kind offer of a flown kit raffle certainly gets my recommendation. Best of luck Tom. Glenn
  3. Fred, That is fantasic, saw it when I was in Australia some time ago. Have you made a 72nd Wedgetail - been keen to see that. Do you still have the Datsun? Glenn
  4. Just a quick ask, for the Chinook experts out there? I have a couple of projects pending using the recent issue of the 1/72 Airfix Chinook (Gulf War example on the box top) and the Italeri example and intend to model some RAF machines from the 1980s early 1990s, the anniversary machines. Do this kits have the correct rotor blades in the box, as I'd rather not spend out on additional resin if it can be helped. I know the blades were modified at some point, but I'm looking to model some Chinooks in the old 'Grey/Green and Black scheme' Thanks in advance. Glenn
  5. Can anyone help, I am seeking info on 12 Sqn's F.Mk 6 Hunters, the ones loaded during the 1980s while the Buccaneers were having their wings sorted. I am seeking images pictures that illustrate the wrap-around camouflage scheme, top and bottom surfaces etc. (So far I have just one port view and it doesn't help me!). Also did they have underwing serials, and where all plumbed for four drop tanks or just two, which seems to be a standard fit? Been through all the usual books, Warpaint and Wings of Fame etc. plus a internet search and come up with zip!! A heap of questions for a Monday I know, but if you can help that would be great.
  6. The 100th Anniversary RN Hawk scheme is already marked down for a future Model Alliance/Aviation Workshop decal sheet. Check their website. I believe that there will be four Hawks in this scheme in time for RIAT.
  7. Hi Colin, If you are looking at the dubious' Russian Trawlers, known as AGI's I have been told in the past, have a few good quality B&W prints of these in action (?), well not fishing at the time. They may be of use as a reference source, although I'm not up for this one, sorry. But I'll have some 'recce types' to put on the table for Telford if that's OK. Glenn
  8. Thank you chaps, and even a tank chap like Daz helped out - cool!! Dave I'll have a dig about in the very cold loft, but I may take you up on that offer of a Fujimi example. Glenn
  9. Evening All, Wondered if you could help me out, I am seeking a Martel missile in 1/72, I am sure that it has been issued with a kit at some stage, but the matter is just not workign today. Anyone able to offer which kit might have included them at one time? Only after one and its a bit urgent. I may well have an example in the loft just not sure which kit box to look in! Any ideas????
  10. Now that is nice Radar. If all goes well, I should have the 1/72 'killer' variant completed by Telford (using a modified kit), so perhaps a combination display for the Recce SiG?
  11. Gentlemen thank you both, wasn't even aware that Pavla did one. Thanks chaps.
  12. Does anyone know or have a link to the Model Art Decals website. Last year the company produced the resin camera pods used on the Mirage IV in 1/72, but for the life of me I've had no luck trying to purchase any, and don't really want to wait until the Southern Expo'. Tried the normal model website shops but no luck/ Any ideas Britmodellers?? Thanks in advance. Glenn
  13. I wonder if any other NF-5 fans could help me out. Many years ago Dutch Decal produced a 1/72 sheet of NF-5As in the weird Grey camouflage schemes, similar to the F-16 scheme. I've hunted for many months if not years for the sheet to no avail. If anyone has it in their collection, would they be able to scan the decal placement sheet, so perhaps I can model some of the F-5s using the Esci kit. Thanks in advance. A fan of Dutch NF-5As. with a stack of Esci NF-5A in the loft and nothing to do.
  14. Nice choice of kit Jen, just one word of caution with regard to the canopy sections. The actual aircraft does not have it's front windscreen tinted at all. Might be worth push-moulding a new clear one, (yep you can do it, your models are excellent). The larger sections are heavily tinted (with gold I believe?) in order to protect the crew from EW emissions etc.
  15. Although not my scale, this looks stunning and at £26.99 a real bargain. For us 1/72nd scale modellers the Hasegawa example is currently priced at £24.50!! Work that one out............ and it comes with only half this amount of detail!!! Any ideas............. (Answers on the back of a postcard or sealed envelope please!!)
