  1. Hiya, I hadn't realized it had been so long, yes I still have him, he's standing next to me right now:
  2. ahhh how the time flies by thank you for the bump, brings back memories.
  3. The final build time when I added it up is 600 hours, well under my initial estimation. Im not going to talk too much as your all probably already looking over the pictures! As ever, any questions you have I will answer. The head does work I will film it later and you tube the clip. The base is oak and the pegs locate the acrylic case that site over it and also house the LEDs to illuminate it, i'll also post some pics of this later on.
  4. Hi guys, im done, have been pretty ill this last couple of days so i'll post some pics from last week but you'll have to wait a few days before im up and about again.
  5. got the head setup where I want it, seems to be working ok. some shiney pics made this stand that will hook inside the body, just to give support so he doesnt topple over, makes me feel safer! new screen installed, I forgot how complicated i made it! test run seems ok
  6. Thanks guys not before no, materials cost so far is about £400-500
  7. dont know, might play with it a bit, probably just putting it in various funny poses. Not easy to photograph this as its huge! He does balance ok on 2 feet, but obviously top heavy. I need to raise the hips and hydraulics up a bit to get him looking a bit taller. (yes thats my hand scared it'll fall over!) legs A lot of the panels and stuff is obviously not attached and all the pipes etc need to be done. Cant take any more pics nw, already back in about 100 pieces!
  8. Ok Drum roll please! standing on its own 2 feet! Test fit of the chest, this is as far as its getting for a day or 2, I need to strip it down again and modify a few bits.
  9. Feet these were a pain but finally I have a set of 4 again I wasnt happy with the 1st back of the foot I made so using that as a template I made 2 new ones out of a single piece of delrin. Also the little pistons were ally rod with a styrene U shape. I have now remade both side using a solid piece for each half of the piston. all together now Same again here, using the styrene as a prototype I machined a new set using delrin.
  10. more leg The little shock absorbers were made from 4 pieces, the cylinder with a U shaped piece on each end. I have now remade using 2 pieces, from one piece of bar. glad all this is done
  11. Ok quick update, ive been working away on the leg knee pad ankle bit another bit, just a straight copy glad thats done
  12. thank you 2nd leg time. im briefly documenting this as its pretty much the same as the other one got my micro switches through and fitted them onto the screw drive, so it'll cut the power when it gets to the end of its travel. fitted up, made a few little brackets and hangers, one you can see above the motor lump of delrin thats about 8 hours work, getting my head down here.
  13. smoothed the chest edges off and re primed Now stripping the torso apart, the top plate is the old one the shoulders were mounted on, now I know exactly where they need to mount I made the plate at the bottom with the holes in the right place. Also re tapping holes and generally tidying up the insides.
