  1. Looks like she is nearly ready for paint!
  2. I think it is probably a combination of the lighting and photos taken with my camera phone! The colours are mostly grey (all be it a little too light) and black with white dials and switches... nothing too out of the ordinary!
  3. First of all apologies for not being very active over the first few weeks of this group build, It was my final exams at uni! Well exams are over so its time for some modelling.... Made some good progress on the Tomcat this weekend.... So far the kits has just fallen together and is almost ready for paint!
  4. Gotta love a Sundowners F-14, very nicely done
  5. I'm hoping it is easier than Hasegawa Tomcat as I found that to be an absolute pig to build, so much so It is half built on the shelf of doom!
  6. Very nice choice of Tomcat! I personally would go for the three tone, love that scheme.
  7. I will be building the Hobbyboss 1/48 F-14D OOB and in the markings of VF-101 Grim Reapers.... I'm not going to be correcting any of the kits flaws as it looks like a Tomcat to me! Cheers Andrew
  8. Thanks Hawkeeper. That was the conclusion I came to but what does the ECU stand for?
  9. Can anyone help me identify the mark of Rolls Royce Avon this is... I think it is a Mk 122 from a Hunter?? Any info would be a great help. Thanks Andrew
  10. Thanks everyone for the comments I used Vallejo Model Air paints 53 and the slightly darker 55 and again Model Air for all the metal bits the only other paint I used was tamiya white. Cheers Andrew
  11. Cheers mark, No aftermarket except for the decals(I would have used the Revell ones but I had somehow managed to lose them) and the AMRAAM and Sidewinder where from a Revell F/a-18E and the GBU-12's are from the Revell Rafale and the GBU-10's are from the Hasegawa weapons set. Its a great kit especially when you consider how much it costs!
  12. Hi all, this is the latest of the workbench. It is the 1/48 Revell F-15E with Twobobs decals and some weapons from the spares box... Cheers Andrew
  13. Sorry a bit confusing the whole thing is Desert Storm but I meant the setting could be confused for OIF, not sure if that was what is was called (second Gulf War)
  14. Thanks for the comments guys Cheers John, I hadn't noticed the SAW not having his ammo as for the uniform this is supposed to be from Desert Storm in 1991 and I though that the choc chip camo was used but I'm no expert and I should have put that in my first post as the setting is more Operation Iraqi Freedom? Cheers Andrew
  15. This is the latest model off my workbench and the second armour model that I have made. It is the Revell 1/35 M901A1 ITV with Masterbox figures... Cheers Andrew
  16. I used milliput cut to size and shaped.
  17. Here is the latest of the workbench... It is the Hobbyboss A-10 built OOB with the addition of some homemade FOD covers and my only gripe about the kit was the star and bar decals which were not dark enough so I used some from the Revell kit. I removed the LASTE lumps and bumps and the GPS bump on the spine. Thanks for looking Cheers Andrew
  18. Thanks Nick, its very simple, I use a small bit of wire wool(like the stuff on top of a washing up sponge) and dip it first in a dark grey get most of the paint off then dab it on to the parts to be chipped. After that i do the same with silver but not as much and I do it before the final matte coat. Hope that helps Cheers Andrew
