Thanks for the appreciation of this model. The figures are from the Revell 1/48 RAF pilots and ground crew figure set no. 02620 though I'm not sure if it's currently listed. Pity, as is a very nice set with more figures than I have used plus a few accessories. Cost all of £6.99! Well worth tracking down.

Thank you, this was a very pleasant build with only a little filler. Accurate fit of parts with plenty of crisp detail. I would have no qualms about building another from the range. The kit decals were also very nice. Go for it!

I used Tamiya masking tape for the hard lines and white tack for the camouflage. The canopy was masked using the pre-cut masks supplied in the kit, very straightforward to use and actually the first time I have used them. The paint will spray very finely and would stand thinning if you wanted to get in really close at a low pressure. Phil.

I have always been very happy with Alclad metallic paints so when I saw the range of enamel colours at Telford I thought I would try them. The Eduard 1/48 Spitfire is an excellent model and is built straight from the box. The paint itself comes ready to spray which it does very nicely giving good coverage without obscuring fine details. Once the colours were on, the model was sprayed with Alclad gloss, the decals applied, a sealing coat of gloss, followed by a coat of semi-matt, again from Alclad. I am very pleased with the result and will certainly be using these paint again. Highly recommended!http:// http://

Why not simply add a piece, or two, of 80 thou plasticard to the existing plug which will give you more gluing area?

Chicken hawk - just about the best account of helicopter operations in Vietnam. A very graphic book detailing how the author, Robert Mason, wanted to learn to fly helicopters, couldn't afford to, so he joined the army then found himself in South East Asia. This book goes into a significant amount of technical detail without becoming dry holding the readers interest right the way through. I have read this at least three times now in no more than three or four sittings. Great potential for a film.

I've been using Prepar3d v.2.0 since its release and have to say it is a big improvement over FSX for the fact that it is using all the processor cores and the graphic card to a much greater extent than FSX ever will. My computer is mid range by todays standards, i5 2500k cpu, NVidia 660ti gtx graphic cards with 8gb ram on Windows 7 64 bit. I can average 50fps but even when the frame rates drop to the teens, say using a complex aircraft in a busy airport, it is still smooth. Most, but not all, FSX aircraft are compatible as is most of the scenery. I appreciate it is not a cheap program, but quality rarely is, but once you have tried it I doubt you will want to go back.

Accurate Armour also produce it in 1/48 & 1/35 scale, all depends on the size you want and also your budget.
