  1. Thanks both. I had heard that the RV/KP kit was a tricky build, and the Zvezda one does look a touch basic. Shall wait for the Clearprop one, not as if i don't have other projects first. Appreciated Simon
  2. Hello, I'd ideally like to add a model of the MiG-23 in 1/72 (any variant but preferably one used by smaller air forces) to my collection. Does anyone have any recommendations on the best available kit? By best i mean, reasonably accurate and also not a pain to stick together! Cheers Simon
  3. No problem! I wont be checking here that often, but so glad people are excited about the brand. We can never please all the people with one new tool a year, but i hope we can do stuff that gets people excited all the same. Hornby are investing in the brand, in fact Thursday next week im scanning the follow up to the Lotus, so expect some big things Simon
  4. Hey guys, I actually work for Pocher as the brand manager. Please look at our Facebook for updates but this is a 100% new tool. Made from scans of the real car at Classic Team Lotus. It bears no common parts nor lineage from the old Entex tooling at all. And certainly not related to any part work! We choose it because we wanted to start a range of beautiful, iconic famous racing and road cars. This may not be your first choice, but we can always get to those in the future I'm afraid the 300sl was before my time so unsure why it was cancelled! The model is in development now, and watch our Facebook pages for more info! I'll check in here occasionally, but recommend our main social media channels for any burning queries you may have. Thanks, Simon
  5. And i remember serving you in the much missed Hythe shop! Still got the dark blue beetle? Other excellent places in Kent are: The hobby shop - Faversham Excellent shop with a wide range of choice. Aviation Bookshop - Tunbridge Wells. Obviously just aircraft, but a great selection of aircraft kits and then a truly amazing selection of books! Obviously. Good prices too Simon
  6. i finished my boxing of the F-6 over the weekend. A lovely kit! Thanks KP! i'll be ordering some of the Arab ones too Simon
  7. Nice to have somone else from Kent. If you go to Brands regularly i really recommend the MSV season pass, £200 and you get into every car event all year works really well! It is my favourite place on earth to while away a sunny sunday. As soon as all this gets sorted out i shall be there on south bank. Simon
  8. It says it above the pictures mate. KP one is a new tooling with injected canopy
  9. Just be careful on that last day. The M25 round from Brooklands area to Heathrow can be very, very snarled up. It would be easy to spend too long at Brooklands to then be able to make Heathrow for 2:30!
  10. Troy, I've tried messaging you here but to no avail! can you please drop me an email at [email protected] - or PM me on here. We have Airfix matters we would like to discuss with you.

    Thanks!

  11. If you are at the Kent Battle of Britain museum and memorial it is but a short trip along to the Hornby Visitor centre, which has a nice group of displays about Airfix. May appeal, may not!
  12. Far south I know, but if you fancy a visit to a proper fairytale English castle then I heartily recommend Bodiam in East Sussex. Not far from Headcorn and also close to Tunbridge Wells, which has the superb Aviation Bookshop. A shop I know you will find both excellent and potentially expensive. and fear not my colonial visitors, they can post stuff back for you at very reasonable rates. They also sell second hand models. 1/72 stuff is always especially cheap.
  13. Fw190 set on the way for me. Well, I need something to put on that Zvezda Fw190 I bought at Telford that I don't need and had no plans to buy yet bought anyway because i'm easily distracted by a sticker that says '£3'
  14. Actually that is not correct. the F51-D boxing contains an extra sprue with the correct propeller + rockets.
  15. But all extra parts and tooling adds to the overall cost. Thus pushing the prices up. You may want a highback, and that is fair enough, but a business case for a low back was obviously deemed to be stronger. Oh and wouldn't a high back need new wings? As they are a C wing... Thus more parts as well. I'm sure somone will provide the kit you need soon enough. Just not in this instance.
  16. Or an attempt to keep costs down by not doing two fuselages plus different cockpit parts. Thus keeping costs down. Or you could be insulting.
  17. Nick is correct. Ford themselves get confused over this at times, but I would refer to as (and do in my 'day job' as a Ford GT MKII. the Chassis number begins GT40 - however this doesn't meal the body and final build was actually a GT40!
  18. That's lovely. But to be pedantic. Revell got the name wrong on the boxtop, its technically not a GT40. But rather a Ford MKII. These featured a larger engine (from a NASCAR Galaxie) and as you can see a completely different rear deck, plus wider track at the rear to accommodate the ZF gearbox and bigger V8 lump. This of course doesn't detract at all from what is a lovely model Simon
  19. It was definitely the Wonder Woman plane. 100%. Though I think they have the drawings.
  20. I suppose it all depends on what returns the better margin and profit? Something nobody on here knows...
  21. Because once you add paints and glue etc the DD works out cheaper. While the Spitfire and 109E starter sets are indeed marginally cheaper individually, they make a nicer gift for a child at a birthday or Christmas in a single box complete with history and evocative artwork.
