  1. Mike, I have used ALCLAD without any issue for quite a time now. Giving up the Metalic ranges in HUMBROL and XTRACOLUR might be an option. I have been considering this course...so thanks for an objective opinion. Nice one. best wishes Graeme
  2. ....whisper ...whisper....who are these RM?????.. when will Private companies be given a chance......OH Right!
  3. Okay...Will give it a try...thanks for taking the time to respond. Best wishes Graeme
  4. Mike, Have you considered asking someone in UK to buy and ship to yourself. I would happily do this at cost +P+P without hesitation. Let me know your thoughts. Best wishes Graeme
  5. Nice review. I have I think the original kit and have wondered if it is relatively any good. Moulding looks newer and different on the sprues. Nice kit...and well done with the review. Thanks Graeme
  6. I once built the HASWEGAWA 1/72 version of this after a bet with my eldest brother, who could build the best version. We asked his eldest son to judge...he was probably 10 or 11 y/o...he picked mine....Chic (my brother) was devastated and got all stroppy. Given I thought he was a modelling genius and he introduced me to modelling i was so chuffed. Its a great kit..good luck and post the finished pictures. Graeme
  7. Hi all, Here is my issue. I find, despite using either White spirit or Cellulose Thinners on a roughly 1:1 ratio that I constantly have a blocked airbrush (Badger 200) and need to constantly ajust the paint ajuster at the rear of the airbrush with every pass. This doesn't happen with ANY other paint inc Humbrol or Xtracolour...only their metalic paint. I spray at 15-20PSI and thoroughly clean my airbrush after every previous use.... The paint finish is always rough feeling. Please help thanks all Graeme
  8. Hi All, Does anyone know where i can still buy 1/72 scale interwar engines?? I am particularly looking for Le Rhone engines. Cheers Graeme
  9. Listen guys...thanks again for all the help. Will try experimenting with ENAMEL/CELLULOSE. G
  10. OKAY..... so Celulose thinners is okay to use with Enamel Paint???? G
  11. HELP ME!!! I have used the above paint since returning to modelling, however, I find it particularly difficult to spray as it constantly requires me to open the needle on my Badger 150 airbrush a bit more with every spray pass. I thin the paint 50/50 with white spirit and spray at between 18- 22 PSI. I have no problem with any other Enamel paint from Hannants other than this one. Am I doing something wrong or can someone suggest an alternative paint. Cheers Graeme
  12. Okay. Thanks, will try this. Graeme
  13. Hi all. I have inherited a couple of older (Scaleplanes etc) 1/72 vacform kits of WW1 aircraft. I understand the basics however, is it me or do parts like the tail fin/rudder only come half completed. These bits look like one side is fine but the other side has no detail or isn't finished!!! please help. If I were to sand the above part, one side is almost hollow! Graeme
