  1. The good news is that Miliverse (now Miliverse Designs) is still alive and kicking, but working on other projects as well as other commitments. Source: I know Mark personally and we recently touched on scale modelling matters
  2. On the CF-18, Kinetic has apparently omitted the 'Fat Boy's pylons carried on station 2 & 8. This variant contains the ALQ-162 ECM which is embedded in the aft section, making it wider. Raymond did mentioned they are leaving it to aftermarket. Wolfpack has a Ops Mobile set which contains the correct pylons but that's sized for Hasegawa. Unless WP decides to release an updated set. Cheers! Sebastian L
  3. Between 1985-1987, Singapore retrofitted some F-5Es(A/C 836-841) and F-5Fs(860-862) with Shark noses and W6 LERX but without IFR probes. In 1989, 870-874 were converted as well. However, these upgrades weren't applied fleet-wide, as the new upgraded F-5S/Ts were introduced in early 1996. These subjects are available in Milliverse 1/72 Singapore Tigers decal. Hope this helps!Cheers! Sebastian L P/S: I have an old archive photo of #839 with the Shark nose and W6 LERX config..no IFR. Will post if anyone is keen.
  4. my mistake...this should be right.
  5. There's a good YouTube channel on JASDF Phantoms. Check these out:
  6. Minor updates: I'm amazed till this stage i could hardly get any painting done!. The amount of correction required for the CMK resins and the warped kit parts really pushed me to the edge...could this be a case of me biting off more than i can chew? I think so but I'm not throwing in the towel... Here's ANOTHER example of the CMK's nosecone. Even the instruction sheet illustration differs from the resin part. I'd to remove the entire probe-like structure from the kit part and graft it onto the resin. You can also see that the default nosecone profile is alot more streamlined but there's no way for me to verify which is accurate. I chose the resin nosecone to work on because the fitting to the kit trunking is quote good. And more importantly, it doesn't leave that much gap when the trunking is mated to the fuselage halves. Well, there were some respite after some hair pulling moments. Allow me to present you Aires replacement exhausts & burner cans! at close to SGD$30 a pop, this is a walk in the park Had some serious trouble with the CMK pit that was unrepairable...anyway no time to fret over it, i activated Plan B. Managed to secure an Aires cockpit set from a mate. Went to work and i must stress the fact the details are superb, accuracy wise quite close to the actual subject matter. Primed. First coat of wash applied. Remove excess wash. Ready to paint. Checked my references and applied the required colours. Next will be the mating of the pit onto the fuselage halves... Added the flight column and PE rudder pedals. The Aires pit requires minimal sanding and the fitting was quite ok. Though some minor sanding is required to ensure a snug fit. I'd to ensure i don't overdo that because i have the dreadful CMK resin nosecone & wheel wells sitting below. And i have the Airfix default intake trunking that sits in between these two...so you can imagine how very little margin of error i can afford! Another view from the front showing how 'neat' the rear bulkhead against the fuselage halves. The Aires fitting is GOOD! P/S: need to touch up the side gaps and add some details to it. Back to work.... Cheers!
  7. OK, here goes....cleaned up the CMK rudder part and did a test fit. The picture above says it all...well i can leave without it since the enhancement isn't that a big deal but i wasn't prepared for the next surprise though! It appears to be a 1/35 ' tank return roller'...so I'm forced to use the provided nose wheel instead. This could be an isolated case so life goes on... Next, I'll be working on the intake trunk, shock cone & the front wheel wells, using a both Airfix parts & CMK(more surprises??) Cheers! Sebastian L
  8. Hi Damien, thanks for the headsup! Cheers mate!
  9. Hi guys, thanks for looking! Btw, I've ONE question regarding the cockpit instrument panels...is it supposed to be black(which is common during that era)? I decided against following the kit instructions and as such began browsing through SAM MDF #7 & Warpaint Series #14. Ironically, it led no where since only the T.5 were shown. It was only until i checked out Thunder & Lightnings>F.6/F.53 that i realised it's GREY. As such i proceeded with that....i hope I'm RIGHT!
  10. Ok, I'd managed to subdue the horrendous CMK wheel well sets and the warped wings. Subsequently, i moved on to the CMK flaps and to my dismay, more work required just to fit them onto the wings...and this time it's undersized. Flap added and in 'landing' configuration... more updates soon...
  11. Hi everyone, This is my first post and i thought it would be nice to kick start with a WIP. Anyway, as the topic suggest, it's been awhile(a long while to be honest!) since i last build a kit...been hoarding too many! Well, i took a leap of faith and here goes: I'm building a F.6/XR769 of 74 Sqn, RAF Tengah, 1969, which I've always wanted to but didn't get to it. The colour scheme will be in BMF and this is a challenge considering I've never done one before. For this kit, i took an unusual approach by working on the wings first. This is because I'll be using the CMK wheel wells set to further enhance the details. In order to fit the wheel wells, i need to sand & 'Dremel' the marked area. As you can clearly see, there's a slight curvature on the area to be sanded. As such a Dremel fitted w/ 9.5mm aluminum oxide grinding stone was used to work on it. First round of sanding done. CMK resin part cleaned up, ready for test fitting. No joy...the test fit shows a lot work need to be done to correct the warped resin part. I can't fit both top/bottom wings and i estimated around 1.93mm of plastic to be sanded away. You can clearly see how warped they are. Anyway, i placed them into a bowl of hot water for around 30secs to 'reshape' them...no joy still! The wafer thin part on the wheel wells made it very brittle. After much thought, i decided not to 'reshape' the resin as the risks are deemed potentially fatal if i pursue further. So i began re-profiling the wings(both top/bottom) by using a 6.4mm grinding stone and Tamiya 320 grit. The marked 'X' are areas that requires more work...holding the Dremel for a good 30mins is damned tiring. working on the CMK resin control surfaces next... Cheers! Sebastian L
