  1. Thanks Ninja, The dio can be found here My first ever diorama "PAYBACK" These are the figures I'll be using, well some from each kit. This is the dio so far, all scratch built. And this is how it all started See Ya .
  2. As you can see this kitty has been having fun in the mud. The final touches are going into the dio (more pic's soon) and I've just started the figures. Thanks for the comments chaps, it really helps to motivate. Thanks for viewing See Ya
  3. Hi I started this on the 3rd April, the KT will be the center piece for a dio that I'm currently building. This is the second tank I've built for more than 30 yrs, and the 1st that I've painted with an airbrush. I must say this is a great kit, from what I've read on the interclick people hate the rubber bands that come with kits and much prefer replacing them with metal ones. Not wanting to spend money its the rubber bands for me. The detail is pretty good and I didn't have any problems fixing them to the model, or depicting the force of gravity, which I think turned out just fine. The front LHS wheel, just back from the drive sprocket has been slightly raised compared to the others, as this wheel is just coming into contact with a pile of debris. I had some fine brass mesh in my spares box so decided to replace the fine black plasticy mesh that came with the kit. The King T is built with some minor damage, so its off to paint. Tracks painted dark brown for starters, wheels primed and painted. This is about the forth time I've used an airbrush On with the primer. Then red oxide. I'm going to try something that I haven't read about, and that's recreating scratches etc by using tiny pieces of wet and dry held with tweezers and scratch through the top coats to the under coat of red oxide, which I sprayed with several layers of Matt varnish. Where bare metal is visible I will scratch right through all the paint layers and paint the plastic with rust colour. We will see what happens. Then German Dark Yellow shade Dunkelgelb. Started with the camo today all free hand as I wanted to try my hand at spraying free hand. I know the real thing was hard edged but hey why not. A little bit more green then on to the brown. OK on with the spots. The weathering begins and my this is scary!! Need to paint tools exhaust etc, then time to get this kitty dirty. Your honest opinions please. Joolz.
  4. Started this dio a little while back for a dio comp build and have been posting it on Trackpads forum Check out the full build log on the link. Here's how it started. Well here goes. Setting, December 1944 Stavelot Ardennes offensive. My Dio title is "Payback" based around a King T. Once the ideas in my head, next time to put it onto paper. Planning some of the buildings detail. I'm going to be going down the make do with what I've got route for the scratch building. I've got a piece of hardboard scrap that came from some packaging, that will do as the start of the base, so the Dio will have to fit this! Putting the idea into 3D. The figure was used to create the right scale for the buildings, as well as a 1/35 scale ruler. The buildings will all be scratch built from extruded polystyrene insulation foam. Time to cut out the basic shapes of the buildings, the foam cuts like a dream with a craft knife or mini saw. The upstairs window to the right of the arch will have an ambush team waiting to pounce. Twisted Evil Well started cutting some of the detail into the foam, using a knife and some mini files/rasps and then running a pencil over the cut areas to create the detail. Amazing how 4hrs just fly's by. Looking forward to doing the other buildings and creating a mount for the base. And here's were I'm upto at the moment. I never knew this could be so much fun. Later Joolz. Your honest opinions please, as this is my 1st ever dio.
