After a few years out of the modeling fraternity I have returned.
My interest's are warships and modeling them,of the Royal Navy.
I have a love of destroyers and frigates, but i do like other types as well.
My favourite destroyers are, which i hope to model all of them, are
HMS CAPRICE,HMS ROEBUCK,HMS CORUNNA(of course),HMS DIANA(daring class),HMS ACHATES,HMS LAFOREY,HMS COSSACK(Tribal class),HMS COSSACK ii(CO class) and more,but these are the ones I want to model first of all.

Wow that looks really good,Will go very well with my 1964 Eagle conversion(when i get round to building it)lol best regards Alan -
I saw on ebay to day a 1/144 scale kit of the ark for £350 gb pounds, from a newish company for me called kitshackmodels in the uk.It is a wood kit built in the old fashion method and i think mainly for radio control, In 1/144 scale this works out at 6ft long . Given the cost of some deans marine 1/96 kits,i think this could be a winner. But where do you put a 6ft long model? Have a look and see what you think, they also do a J class destroyer as well. Mmmmmmm now where can i get some 1/144 scale buccaneers, sea vixens, gannets, sea kings and phantoms best regards all Alan

Ah the old frog kit of a battle, right up my street,as my name suggest's.I have built this model and used 1:350 photo-etch from wem, loof at the wem sight for details, you are correct in saying the bridge and othe structures are wrong, but remember this is a very old kit.Good luck with the build mate, keep us posted on how you are doing. All the best Alan -
yes i agree phil mate ingenius indeed,so there would be no reason why you could not convert the airfix vic to the other near sisters, centaur, albion and the rusty b bulwark then that would be interesting,i might even have a go myselfe all the best alan

Hello beer monster,I must admit it is the first time i have heard of MS.4,in the scheme of the Belfast. the general opion is that the light blue was B6. I to have the anatomy of the ship series of the Belfast, but i also have the old,and long out of print, profile on her. The centre spread artwork was AP 507A dark grey AP507C light grey B5 dark blue B6 light blue I live in london and i visit the ship on a regular basis, all indications are that the above scheme,on the Airfix box artwork, was the scheme at the time of "the battle of north cape". So the Airfix paint scheme would be correct. Regards and hope this helps you mate D97CORUNNA Alan

I do agree with Phil's comments regarding a model in 1:350 scale of the "laughing Cavalier". The biggest class of WW2 destroyers, the war emergency S to C class's have been neglected for to long. Just think of the numerous conversion projects from one kit, 1. The late fifties modernised CA's,like the Cavalier 2. the post war type 16 frigate conversions 3. the post war full type 15 frigate conversions 4.The post war minor modernisations of the CH,CO and CR class's Thats four conversions from the one KIT!! Of course there are more as well within the individual class's. example : The eight ships of the CA class, they were all modernised in the late fifties/early sixties. The first four had Daring type open bridge work, while the other four had the later type frigate bridge fitted. Later on in the sixties Cavalier and Caprice(my favourite destroyer)were fitted with seacat missile launchers. So you see the potential of a kit of the S TO C class's.COME ON AIRFIX DON'T MISS THE BOAT!
