  1. Thank you for the comments guys Yeah I would say this is the better looking out of the twin and single too, but with regards to the paint I just used Humbrol 11 straight from the tin with a good old bristley stick, turned out ok imo Regards, James
  2. Hey guys, Just wanted to share this quick build of mine, had two days with very little timetabled work at uni, so thought I would catch up on some long needed modelling Very annoyed I left my Klear at home, but that can come later. Decalsol is also needed due to some silvering being evident. This is a very nice kit though! Any comments or criticisms are welcomed! Thanks, James
  3. Thankyou for all the comments Would you believe that the camera it was taken from cost £5 brand new! Which makes it even better for when I sell it to the MOD for millions I'm going to try and travel around a bit in the local area (walking distance as it won't fit in my mum's car and my dad works a lot) so watch this space for some more videos Here is the aircraft it was taken from James Thankyou for all the comments Would you believe that the camera it was taken from cost £5 brand new! 4. Hi guys, I thought this was aviation based enough seeing as it's from an RC plane of mine The camera is a 808 keychain camera, surprisingly good resolution for a 15g camera Any comments or thoughts would be appreciated Hope you all like it! James
  5. I believe its mostly the nose shape but i'm not certain Here's some newer pictures Thanks for looking! James
  6. Thanks, I've since addded fod guards and sorted out the sidewinder alignment James
  7. Ah, thankyou for that, the instructions just showed two greyscale tones so I'll admit it was a bit of a guess
  8. Hi guys, Just wanted to share with you the last of my half term builds This one wasnt without its diffculties, promodeller wash reacted with klear for some reason creating tiny bubbles all over so I had to sand them down and repaint it all :/ then I tried to paint the detonation cord in the canopy but that went awfully, the entire canopy turned white :/ tried sanding it out (stupidly) and that didnt work, then got oven cleaner on it and gave it a good scrubbing which got most of it. I then had to work down to 12000 grit micromesh and then a dip in klear to get it back to near normal Anyway, here it is, some searching shows these as rather clean airframes, I could do with some weathering pastels just to give it a slightly used look Any and all comments and criticisms are welcomed Thanks for looking, James
  9. Hi guys, I would like to share with you another on of my recent builds. I made this over a couple of days this half term I'm not too sure on the accuracy of the scheme but I couldn't find much decent reference in the timescale I had. Anyway, here it is, I feel like it needs more stencils for some reason Thanks for looking! all comments and criticisms appreciated James
  10. Glad you all like it My girlfriend has ended up having this one After watching a documentary about f104's she wanted a model of one and I just so happened to have made one Here's another pic relative to a 1/72 spitfire Thanks, James
  11. Hi guys, After quite an uneventful yet enjoyable building session with f111fan, here is what I finished the evening with I've never built in this scale before, so i'm not sure whether I like it or not but here's my attempt Hope you like it James
  12. Hi guys, After quite a lengthy thread in the work in progress section, here it finally is, I must say thankyou to all who helped me throughout this build Apart from the figures and foliage the entire base is scratchbuilt The base is made from depron foam and a balsa wood surround. The water is made of silicone sealer I hope you all approve of it, especially user Madmonk, as he very generously sent me the grass and foliage as well as a set of figures! Highly appreciated Warren and I hope you like it Sorry for so many pictures but this is probably the model I'm proudest of Thanks, James
  13. Tried mixing it a lot, now just feel stupid Much better What can I use as a liquid retarder and how much klear or water should I add? Thanks, James
  14. Ah, well I didnt mix it to that extent, just gave it a shake for a few minutes, I'll try again and report back James
  15. Hi guys, Just wondering if any of you had any tips for brushing tamiya acrylics? After numerous coats of paint, the matt black isnt matt and still is rather transparent. Have I just got a bad batch or is that how they are? Any help would be appreciated with regards to techniques, James
