  1. I have been silly and bought one of these and without looking closely at it. I have found out that the ends of the booms are quite a different angle to the airfix sea vixen and the length is a good 2 scale feet longer. I have put it back in the box and so don't know what else is up the creek with it. Not to pleased with it.
  2. What ever scale it is I hope it is better than that thing they call a Sea Vixen, if the Airfix Vixen is correct the Trumpeter one is badly incorrect around the rear of the booms and appears to be 2 scale feet to long as well as other faults in the area
  3. I have one but I can not find a use for the slot at the top of the IP or is it an Airfix mistake?
  4. They look to me to have have gone out of thier way to be different for no real reason. Why they did not do as Revell and Tamiya with different tail planes, it would have been easier and simpler to build. As it is now I have built two up to the painting stage and both the have a lean to the right at the top of the fin, and the horizontal surfaces are in the same direction . Twisting the rear of the tail in front of the horiziontal surfaces effect the desired result. Also if the mould joint line not removed where the horizintal surfaces socket in the the tail plane will not fit. There are other areas of bad fit, also why Airfix put all the heavy rivets on what should be a filled finished wing?
  5. The Phantom that Jadlam has for sale on Ebay is a FG1 not an FGR1 and it is a pre order which will be avalable in the new year if you scroll down to bottom of the ad. When I last looked there had been 10+ sold!
  6. Does anyone know who is importing them to the UK and when they will be available here?
  7. The above are in the current kit and so are 2 different wheel types diamond and smooth.
  8. The Hasegawa 1/48 P-51 was issued as a fillet less variant as was the 1/32 Dragon complete with Hurry Home Honey decals but I suppose that is unbuildable? I see no reason in the world why aifix would want to rip off some other manufactures kit.
  9. Yesterday 1967/68 VW variant estate that was lowered and painted in a horrible mushy pea green colour but it was immaculate
  10. MK III Capri in bronze metallic with go faster stripes in good condition on the B 1040
  11. Just seen a BSA 500cc sloper single from around 1930,s complete with hand gear change on the B1040. Not sure if was a twin or single exhaust port one
  12. Hi Zack, It is a nice kit to build but as you have found out the front axle beam does not fit as the instructions. I made mine fit by removing material from the engine end of the outer beam by tapering it and then fits further in a per the instructions. The snag then is the trailing arm back to the main housing fouls the clutch housing. The solution that I have seen other people use is to move the outer beam out one or two holes out on the central beam, cut the locators and bolt heads off and reposition then to positions that look as per the real tractor.
  13. A light blue late 1950's MG A 1600 in Tesco's car park yesterday parked on corner where everone turns, ideal place to bend it.
  14. A Turd Brown B.L. Allegro on the B 1040 this afternoon, thought they were all in the scrap heap in the sky. Horrible colour.
  15. I did not know the Harriers were in the Falklands in 1942!
  16. A Tamiya 1/6 Honda Africa Twin and a 1/12 Brach 125 Morbidelli twin. Now I am broke for the rest of the year!!
  17. A "C" reg immaculate green Morris 1000 saloon on the B1040 in Huntingdonshire
  18. Bought the old Heller/Union kit of the Porsche 917 memorial collection, probably a better body shape than the Fujimi kit.
  19. It will be good news if it is a reissue of the Hasegawa tooling, (never mind the divots) or, on the other hand it could be not so good news if it is a rehash of the old ESCI tooling. Above does not indicate it is any new tool.
  20. I can't see a UK price yet. Any ideas?
  21. Monogram, excellent kit for the time and still not bad now if you can look past the raised panel lines.
  22. Opened the front door today and a K reg 71 green Triumph Stag was passing, looked in good condition but it was not the green shade I thought they were. I have not seen one for years and had thought they had all gone to the rust heap in the sky!.
