  1. What on earth is Mike Brewer doing in The Stan? Looking for a 2nd hand BMP for Wheeler Dealers? Surprised (but pleased) to hear BN is still going. The pilot needs a medal for that (and probably a stiff drink!).
  2. I've never used the original Klear as I got into modelling after it was discontinued. However I've used the new stuff on about 10 models, not a single problem. Used as a clear coat before and after decals and weathering. Dipped a couple of canopies which look fine. Its cloudy in the bottle but dries perfectly clear.
  3. Scratchbuilt? That is some really impressive work!
  4. Interesting, didn't know that Hurricanes were used for PR work, any photos?
  5. Thanks Mark, The decals were fine, they seem just right to me. I had no problems with them other than the red ones on top which were fiddly to get straight but thats just my inexperience. My clear coat over the top prior to weathering lifted the edges of the port wing roundel but I think that was due to me me not paying attention.
  6. hi Chocksaway LOL, birthday flowers for my wife, she added the "plant food" that came with the bunch and it seemed to be badly labled plant poison instead!
  7. Thanks Tony. I'm not going to push my nipper to start modelling (or any other hobby for that matter), I want him to explore his own interests but it would be great if we can share them. You are correct about the legs being reversed, I only noticed after it was finished. Is it something that is easy to fix once the model is together, I thought I would probably bust something permanently if I tried to remove them and correct it?
  8. Your cockpit looks fantastic, I particularly like the texture on the seats.
  9. Beautiful Spit Paolo, the paint and weathering look perfect, I'm jealous!
  10. Thanks for the kind words guys. Here is another shot for Perry, I find it hard to photo such a big model, need to work on my photography.
  11. You might have had some hassle but you've ended up with a great looking model, well done! I need to build a Jag a some point, well two actually, one in desert and one in European camo.
  12. Bostik? LOL Better than Prittstick I guess! My first ever kit was an Airfix Spitfire Mk1 I built with my Dad, great memories. I just need to get my 6 year old interested now.
  13. Thanks Jonners, I don't think I was very good when I was younger, I didn't have the patience. All the models I built then got shot by my air rifle so I can't compare them I've got more patience and attention to detail now, the skills I'm working on. I'm currently working on a Revell 1/48 Typhoon, I've got quite a few other kits ready to go as well
  14. Thanks Jeff, I have very little display space so I think I will be sticking mainly to 1/72. My 1/48 Tiffie is huge in comparison! (and its not all together yet) I made a 1/24 Harrier GR1 when I was 13 or 14, I reckon I could have sat in that thing and flown it!
  15. Everything went together very nicely, very little flash or trimming needed. The Harriers are great little kits, just need a GR1, GR3, GR7, GR9, T2 and T4 now I want to do another FRS.1 in the original two-tone paint as well.
