  1. 2 things: - I see Tomytec do 1/144 weapons sets including AGM-158 JASSM; does anyone know of other manufacturers who offer it (perhaps Eduard will downscale their Brassin sets?), or is it going to be a case of modifying the AGM-129s provided? The Tomytec set is long OOP sadly. - Is anyone aware of where a decal sheet for all serials exists, or whether one is planned? Either way, looks a lovely kit and I've ordered!
  2. Lovely looking build, I do love the weird lumps and bumps of the RJ! How was it to build? Is the Welsh Models conversion fairly user friendly? I'm looking at doing a UK RJ with their conversions, but I've never used any of Welsh Models' products.
  3. Important note - I have not built one of these! But I'd guess internally, given that is where it is in reality? Hopefully someone who has built it can verify.
  4. Always nice to get a little back! Looking forward to the build.
  5. I'll be watching this very closely. Big fan of the looks of the FULLBACK, and that's a nice set of aftermarket bits as well. Pricey kit mind you!
  6. Bloody nora, I would not want to be the observer in that if it ditched! Enjoying watching this Massimo, excellent work so far!
  7. Gents, thank you for all the advice - I'll give this a go in the coming days!
  8. That is STUNNING! Hard to believe it's 72 scale; the work on the pit, the sights etc. must have been difficult! Awesome work!
  9. For a supposed "dash to the finish" that's looking excellent! Great work with the seams and the paint work, she looks stunning!
  10. So I'm building a 1/48 SHAR FA.2 to get back in to the hobby, and I'm looking to use a sewing needle cut down to replicate the pitot on the tail. However, I don't own a vice, and the saw I have (which can cut through metal) hasn't made a dent when I have tried it! How do you guys do it? Anyone got any good pointers they can give? Thanks in advance!
  11. This has been an absolute pleasure to watch so far - stunning work, and I love your techniques for weathering and painting! I can't wait to see more!
  12. Awesome. Look forward to watching this develop - I've got designs on Trumpy's 1/32 Thud, so this will no doubt give me some good ideas in the riveting and painting department. Great work!
  13. Amazing work so far! Are you going to re-do the rivets in a softer manner or just leave them off?
  14. Pappy, Looks like a good kit, that tub is beautiful!
  15. If it's done by Adam Tooby (which it looks like it is) keep an eye on his website - it probably won't be long after the kit's release before he starts selling prints of it. I have the Lightning box art on my wall as a print from his site!
  16. 6. Oh for god's sake, why didn't they go for a Mk.X instead of a Mk.Y? Everyone knows they'd sell loads more of Mk.X etc. etc.
  17. Al, I haven't built the Fujimi kit yet, but I have heard good things - one is in my stash. I've also recently returned to the hobby (after about 7 years - a shorter gap, I admit), and I'd reccommend building a different kit to get yourself back in to it. Something just out of the box that will let you experiment and re-learn your techniques before you decide to go all in on something you want to be as perfect as possible - I chose the Airfix 1/48 SHAR 2, and it's certainly enabling me to relearn skills like sanding, filling, filing etc...! Once you feel back "in the groove", then I'd reccommend going back to the Phantom to nail it. Just my 2p, but welcome back and nice to have you on the forums!
  18. I believe the ideal time for a Vulcan re-tool would have been while XH558 was still flying, but seeing as she has now been grounded I'm afraid it will be some time until we see a new tool Vulcan. I agree about the Bucc though, it would be logical to complement the Phantoms. And I'm fairly confident they'll release the Victor K.2 parts as a small kit like they did with the Valiant PR parts. Only 48 hours to wait now for the big one...!
  19. Lovely build Vadim! Based on the pics and description, this looks a good "mojo restoration" kit - I'll have to remember that. Good job!
  20. John, Thanks for the heads up on those sheets, that's most useful! Also found these, which I assume will fit the bill along with the kit stencils? https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/ADTS7228 Currant, Excellent gen, thanks for that - I'll make sure to bookmark it....
  21. John, Marvellous, that's just what I was after! I'll source some decals then; quite pleased about that!
  22. Morning Britmodeller! My name's Tom, I actually joined Britmodeller some 7ish years ago back in my teens, but fell out of modelling some years ago due to work and life getting in the way (isn't that always the way?!). Now in my early 20s, I'm originally from the Wigan area and am now getting back in to the hobby and rediscovering why I loved it so much! It also helps when you've moved and now have an Antics on your doorstep... Obviously, I have a bit more patience and an improving skillset now - I may even do a WIP one day! But it is good to be back and to see the forum is just as welcoming and friendly as ever - Mike, you do an excellent job I love anything Cold War with a jet or a turboprop, and any modern jets. I may also occasionally dabble in WW2 stuff, but you can't beat a bit of old skool Cold War heavy metal in my eyes! See you on the forums!
