  1. Years ago, I built a Matchbox Buccaneer. I folded the wings, opened the canopy, and opened the airbrakes, all with a razor saw and with scratch built detailing. The only item I added were white metal slipper tanks. It was fun to build. When my son comes round I'll get him to take some pics. Ronnie
  2. Hi All, Thanks for all your kind wishes. Virtual Modelling sounds interesting, can anyone point me in the direction for getting going? I'm using an IPad so hopefully that won't be a problem, Thanks, Ron
  3. I've now seen Lindan's finished bus, and it too is a wonderful build. Detailing and finish have been excellently completed, and the seats are amazing. As with Michael's it should be entered into competition. I just wouldn't want to judge the winner.............. My thanks to Lindan for visiting to let me see the bus, Ron
  4. Hi All, I didn't really know where to post this, so as Cold War was my main area of interest I thought this might be the best place. As some of you (my customers) will know I have sold off all my kits as ill health put paid to my model making. Things have worsened to the extent that I am now restricted to one chair and my bed. Whilst I am still able I felt I must post to register my thanks to Britmodeller and all it's members. You have been a joy to deal with, and have supplied so much help and information I feel it improved my modelling. The kind comments I received in "ready for inspection" we're most appreciated. I intend to visit the site while I still can - I cannot use the PC now, so my Ipad is invaluable. Finally, I have a load of decals which I want to send to the decal bank. I would list them but that's past me now. Can anyone give me the contact point. My best wishes to you all, Ron
  5. I have today seen Michael's bus in the flesh and I must say it's a beautiful build. The attention to detail is remarkable; the bonnet lifts to reveal a fully detailed engine compartment, the cabin is similarly finished, and the seats have to be seen to be believed. It deserves to be entered into competition. Thank you Michael for bringing the bus to me as I am no longer mobile. Lindan's build I have only seen by photograph, and this also looks an equally excellent build. Hopefully I will get the chance to see this for real one day.
  6. Hi Lindan Ea What a great result - makes all the effort worth it. Well done! Ron
  7. Excellent work, with great attention to detail - just like the real thing! Ronnie
  8. I think we had the best of it - lots of noise, great variety, and large numbers. Gone are the days of mass fly pasts and demos. Vulcan and lightning scrambles, low flying Buccs - and Phantoms......
  9. Hi all, Already posted this - but in the wrong forum hopefully right now................ Now my modelling has been curtailed, I'm keeping occupied by scanning in some old slides and negatives. The quality is a bit iffy, and some deterioration has occurred, but you can get the general impression. Taken at Boscombe, early '90s Hope you like.....................more to come as I scan more in.
  10. Hi Tom, I obtained a replacement canopy for an F/A 18a which was out of production direct from Italeri. They forwarded it to their UK distributors, The Hobby Company, who sent it on to me. Italrei's email is [email protected] You can find the Hobby Company's details online if you want to try them first, but Italeri worked for me Ronnie
  11. Leave 'em be, Skeg - I've even put insignia decals on upside down on a couple of models, and no one has noticed in over 20 years Ronnie
  12. That is an excellent site !! Ronnie
  13. Well how about this one then..........................http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9J91Iq52Bk&feature=related
  14. This may have been posted before, but worth a look Ronnie
