Great work as usual Neil and I love how you weather your models.

Seems someone is selling copies of said conversion, only thing to look out for is the bomb bay doors they are 3mm short in length. Did get another set of doors from somewhere else and they were the same. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-48-scale-avro-lancaster-MKII-conversion-kit-Limited-edition-/233742434781 Graham

Totally agree with you Neil I've been building one for about 5 years, build a bit and then back in its box it goes.

Will you be moving the W/OP's window? The Belcher bits engines do improve the look and if going by your previous builds this will be another cracker.

Lancaster ND644 in 32nd scale
Graham replied to Mancunian airman's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Ian there was also talk of the front cowl being too large for a war time Lanc as supposedly it was a bit narrower for the 3 core rads? I think the wingnutwings kit had the 2 radiators and different cowls but I don't know if that was ever proven. -
Wow she's a beast I think the herc Lancs look more purposeful, great build and a very nice paint job. Well done Rodger 🤗

"How's that for a Slice of Fried Gold?" 1:72 Lancaster B.II
Graham replied to Dunny's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Wow that's come on leaps n bounds Rodger and is looking great, here's a couple of mine that you asked to see. I've stalled on the turrets just now but hoping your build will kick start me again. found out also when I got to this stage with the engines the top intakes are oval not rectangular as the Paragon set has but hey ho I can live with that. Roger I am sure there are photo's of fanny ferkin II landing at a US base and she doesn't have the turret but she has the bulged doors. I think there are 3 photo's in total with the other 2 of her on the ground with US personnel round her, I have them somewhere but a quick Google will show you but I'll see if I can find them. I am doing her in 1/48th and she also has what looks like a yellow aerial under the bomb aimers position. -

I think most got rid of the turret during service life if my memory serves me right. -

HK Models B-17G 1/48 “The Swoose” 463rd BG
Graham replied to woody37's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Wow great weathering Woody, I know where to send my wings when it comes time ( if I ever get it started ) 🤣 I have the 32nd F model with special decals for a 99BG bird. Your washed out look is exactly what I was looking for so hopefully I can copy it as good as yours. Graham -
Hi Mike, a question about the seat as it looks too long in the pan ( bottom) or is it just the way the photo has been taken. Cheers Graham

Only for around 6 weeks but the QRA's are moving back to Leuchars while runway work is carried out at Lossie in 2019. Still a shame that they don't do the airshows there anymore. https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/news/local/fife/724419/typhoons-to-make-brief-return-to-former-raf-leuchars-base/ Graham

A bit more colour, props painted but not fitted as decals next before flaps etc. Graham

Getting hold of XtraColour (or XtraCrylic?)
Graham replied to alhenderson's topic in Aircraft Cold War
Wonderland don't sell Xtracolor anymore as they could not get re-supplied so dropped them. Graham -
Sprayed Xtracolor dark earth but to me it looks a bit off, what do you guys think? There's a light grey primer under it rather than the kit black. Graham
-
Lower flaps done and with a wee bit of cutting and sanding the rear of the engine it fits Graham
-
Started the lower flaps and here's what I managed after 4 hours!!!! Damn fiddly to say the least. Johnny here's my take on the green/black in the cockpit area. Graham

"To Remember The many" The Tamiya Lancaster 1/48
Graham replied to The Spadgent's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Sorry mate Tamiya got this one wrong. Graham -
Decided with all the Lanc action going on to rescue the MkII from the shelf of doom, I have only included a few pics as good old photobucket screwed the previous ones up. It gives you a peek of what's involved and there are other pics if anyone needs to see more of the build, I am working on the outer wing flaps at present. Graham

Graham replied to The Spadgent's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Hi Johnny if it's not too late the 2 windows either side of were the W/op sits need to be moved back towards the wing as on the kit they are too far forward, hope this pic helps. Graham -
Festival time here in Edinburgh and tonight we had a flyby by an A400, an unusal sound when gently flying along at a low level for flying over a city. Graham
