  6. Hi all after a frustrating search of mr Google i'm still no nearer finding out the last colour scheme grey overall that the Harrier FRS51 was painted in , i wonder if light Admiralty grey is near as by eye it looks close ,any ideas welcome thanks Simon
  7. Hi all does anyone know if the canopy seals are on the inside or outside of the canopy i believe there is a strip on the outside where the blast shield is and a bumper strip on the inside but the canopy seals have evaded me so far

      Thank you Simon and no worries about the delay. This week has been a busy one for me as well so I've not had much time to think about modelling but will be able to start my Hurricane project with confidence now.

      I know the feeling , I’m doing a Tamiya Buffalo at the moment , a simple kitbut seem to have been doing it for ages , the end is in sight now thankfully, silver done now mask up for the yellow wings and tail plane F2a version, so if you don’t need anything else the filter will be on its way in the morning

      That Buffalo will make a lovely splash of colour in your display cabinet once done. I'm trying to finish a couple of PR.I Spitfires but it isn't happening, even though one only needs the wheels sorted out and final weathering.

      I'll let you know once the filter parts arrive and if you are looking into the Hawker GB it will hopefully feature soon :) 

  9. Hi Bobmig thanks for replying its actually KN566 that im trying to do i have the KN5 from the revell kit but need the 66 to finish it off the codes i have are 2.3cm tall but im not sure how that translates to inches in scale cheers Simon
  10. Hi does anyone know the size of underwing codes that a Dakota at this time would have carried , are they 48 inch or larger as i'm looking without much luck for black code numbers 66 x2

Thanks for your reply , i have seen many photos of her in later life with Air Atlantique and the like , the only information i have found say that she worked in the far east to start with with 238 Sqn RAF thencame home and served with 10 Sqn during the Berlin Airlift but no luck with codes or which colours she may have worn either all over silver or o/d and neutral gray Thanks Simon
  12. after much googling and searching i have drawn a blank on any wartime pictures of this aircraft , if anyone has any idea of colour schemes she wore in service especially during the Berlin Airlift i would be very grateful thanks Simon F7F3P
  13. Problem solved Hannants came to the rescue , the decals i needed were in a different search area as serials not codes Colorado decals ref 48.52 30 inch and 48 by the look of it (in metric 0.75 and 1.00 ) if anyone is interested Simon

Having scoured Google ,and spoken to Hannants at Flying Legends on saturday i have still been unable to source the above , it's frustrating as i only need JV x2 , does anyone know of a source for these decals ? I had thought Hannants were about to re- release their Xtradecal sheet in 1/48th but they don't have any details of impending release Thanks Simon
  17. Thanks for your replies , it had not occured to me that the codes could be larger 36 inch is quite big , still the problem seems to be sourcing them that large , oh well back to Google Many thanks Simon
  18. I think the fuselage strengthening strake was introduced because the prototype cracked its fuselage by the hatch in the rear
  19. Having searched here without much luck can someone help me please , i am trying to find out the size of the codes for a 1\48 th scale Hurricane of no 6 sqn . I have the Hasegawa MKIID firstly i think the codes should be white not grey so need to replace them with i think 30 inch codes is this correct ? Thanks Simon

  21. I found an old tin of Humbrol Authentics so i have tried it and it went on perfectly despite being over 30 years old , good old HG1
  22. Thanks guy's you are right Stew the original did get it wrong colourwise as you rightly say it should be in the splinter scheme , but i quite like the original warts an all so Schwarzgrun it will be i am trying out the new Humbrol 241 Thanks Simon

Hello , i am making the 1\24 th Stuka and have the original T6KL markings , i made this one as a kid and want to do the kit as i remember it using only one topsurface colour trouble is i cant remember if the instructions went for Dunkelgrun or Schwarzgrun im sure someone will know this one , any help much appreciated Simon
