  1. Αny idea on how the Beaufighter's flaps looked like??? Although I've got hundreds of photos, I've got none with the flaps down......... Thank you!!!
  2. Thank you my friend!!! This is exactly the pen I used for the prop hub...we 're talking for the upper part of the pen!!! Thank you my friend!!! Take a look at the previous post for that pen part!!!!!!
  3. Thank you my friend!!!!! It's already too heavy to sit on its own u/c, so a new one will be scratchbuilt when the time comes!!!
  4. Well...just a few new things this time due to work pressure... ...starting with the new cowling flaps made of Evergreen plastic sheet and strips... In order to achieve the right dihedral between the inner and the outer parts of the wing and after many dry-fits, I decided to glue in place the upper part first...Some minor improvements were made in the inside of the oil coller air duct... And this is the oil cooler air duct itself, made from aluminum sheet and fine mess from my spares box... ...which will be inserted between the upper and the lower parts of the wing!!! And now the propeller...Only one will be used on the starboard engine. Although it is quite good in detail, it surely needed much filler on its back side... However, I decided to thin it down a bit and I made some inprovements using pen parts!!! Gentlemen thank you for your time and attention!!!
  5. Τhank you my friend!!! The same happened to me as well, but at the end it was me holding the blade!!!!!!!!!
  6. And this is a dry-fit of the right engine along with its cowling... Let's move on to the left engine and its cowling...both exhaust collector rings were made of telephone cable and further improved by aluminum foil!!! Still another dry-fit of the left engine and cowling.... Gentlemen thank you for your time and attention!!!
  7. And this is the work done on the left wing.....the aircraft will be positioned in a restoration diorama scene, so I don't know what will happen to the rest of the left wing... The right engine in place...apart from the engine itself, the cowling itself has been improved while the cowling flaps have already been changed, they will be present in the next bunch of photos!!!
  8. Well, this is definitely an update concerning the engines, the left half-wing and the tail of my English patient!!! Everything was done from scratch, using plastic sheet, aluminum foil and my punch'n'die!!! Here are what the tail section looks like today...
  9. Thank you my friend, don't hesitate to ask if there's anything I can do for you!!!!!!!!!
  10. Thank you my friend!!! I also believe that the "right" shade of black is just as difficult to get as the "right" shade of white...the mixture of ultramarine blue with matte black seems to be a fine choice, it must be that "midnight blue" blueish black I've seen on some profiles, but I still wonder how it would look on an aircraft...however, my Beau started as a maintenance diorama but it's gonna end up as a restoration scene diorama, so I think I'm going to use a little of that special "modeller's artistic license" as far as colours are concerned!!! If you have any other suggestions please feel free to join the conversation!!!!!!!!
  11. Well, this is definitely not an update, but I'd like to ask a couple of questions......... Can anyone inform me on...... 1. The correct colour of the inner parts of the engine cowlings - I know the front (visible) part of the engine itself was painted black on night Beaufighters, but what about the inside of the cowlings, especially behind the exhaust collector ring??? 2. The correct colour of a "black" Beaufighter. In my references I have found it as "dead matte black", "midninght black", "midnight blue" etc. Does it have to do with the period and/or the production factory??? Gentlemen thank you for your time and attention!!!!!
  12. Thank you my friend, I like Beaufighters, too. They are my favourite British WWII plane, along with the Tempest...Now, as for the advice........I'm still learning and discovering new ways and techniques to do things, but reference material is really crucial!!!!!
  13. Thanks mate!!! Well, it's been more than a year since the previous update due to work and ph.d but now I believe that it will be over before 2012 ends!!!!! The Dark side if the Force is back!!!!!!!!!
