  1. Deleted - this is not the wanted area.
  2. The kits arrived a couple days ago. Very basic, but the plastic is thick. I am going to get started on the XC-47 i always wanted a C-47 on floats. The Fairchild Super 71 is incredible. As shown here, they can be made into beautiful models. Walter
  3. OMG! You guys are insane! Absolutely incredible builds! Walter
  4. You are very right Marko. The vacuform kits are male molds and lack detail. Like I said, I have no connection the the Herril family. But I looked for almost two years for a set of floats for my DC-3. I was going to start carving them but I hardly have enough time to build three or four models a year, carving floats would have taken me for ever. Sometimes you have to buy some models while they are around. Like all them Dujin, Sharkit, Formaplane and VLE models, just to mention a few, that I never got a chance to buy no matter how crude they were. Who else makes a Fairchild super 71? And yes, look here, they can be done into incredible models. . Walter
  5. Fellow modelers, I know is bad timing but I was on a quest to find me a set of XC-47 Floats. I looked everywhere, no joy! A fellow modeler gave me and old e-mail address to the family that now makes Execuform kits. Well, guess what? I got me a pair of DC-3 Floats. I am in no way associated with the Herril family but I wanted to share the news with you all. I got permission from them to show you all their contact info and the list and price of the vacuform kits they continue to produce. I am always trying to help out model enthusiast especially when help is needed. So I placed a large order!!! Regards, Walter Houston, TX P.S. And to think I was willing to pay $200 for a set of floats, now I got $200 worth of cool rare kits. 6. I was not aware of that. I am going to Classic-airliners right now. Thanks a million. P.S. I am hunting for the AA piece if any one has it though!
  7. Does any one has a spare/extra 1/96 Authentic Airliners Viscount 800 conversion plug? I am very interested in one. Trade/purchase? Regards, Walter
  8. I like 1/48 scale racers. Only do Mustangs though! And recently Contrails Models came up with the Strega and the Red Baron. http://www.contrailsmodels.com/Complete_Kits.html I got 1/48 scale drawings from Mr. Taichiro Yamashita. http://www.taichiunlimiteddrawings.com/ http://www.pylon1.org/articles/publish/index.shtml They are excellent and I am using them to scratch build my own Miss Ashley. A mustang with Learjet wings? AWESOME!!!!!! Walter
  9. I order my kits directly from the site. They take PAYPAL so it makes it easy for me to purchase the kits I like. I just recently order the On Mark Marksman conversion as well as the Conroy Tri-Turbo Polair DC-3 conversions. I believe I got my kits in two weeks to the USA. Walter
  10. Thanks very much for the great links fellows. Classic Plane has the conversion http://www.classic-plane-mrr.de/listen/classicplane.html CPi18 Junkers F-24 (single engined G-24 Airliner) 17,98 euros Walter
  11. The one I have in the stash is just like this one; http://www.oldmodelkits.com/index.php?detail=7845&page=62 When I get home I will compare the plastic to the Revell kit Walter
  12. Very nicely done G-24 JW! I had no idea Reifra did the G-24 and the G-23. I have a 1/72 KVZ Junkers G-23 / G-24 - Swiss or Swedish Airlines in the stash somewhere. Is that the same as the VEB kit? Love those F.13's as well. Walter
  13. Outstanding customer service, great product! You can not go wrong with Vintage Decals. Walter
  14. Darren welcome to the club! I also plan to build "ALL" my models, I just need another lifetime to do so. And why do I keep buying kits? Cause I can! PAS models are indeed very nice, I do not have the AN-32 "yet" but I love the PAS TU-114. On my last visit to Moscow, Andrey personally deliver several modes to my hotel. Talk about great customer care!!! Walter
  15. Nigel, The Heller/Airfix 1/72 Concorde is one of the hardest (injection) models I have done. I almost flew it into the wall more than once. Now when I walk into my model room and look at her sexy lines I am so glad I finished that monster. Do buy one half ton of putty, you will need it! Good luck and don't give up! Walter http://www.airlinercafe.com/forums.php?m=posts&p=29773#29773
  16. There most be a communications issue going on here cause NAZCA decals, Gaston, is very reliable and very honest man. He does have a job, airline captain, that keeps him very very busy. Continue communicating with him and I am sure you will have the issue resolved. I have been buying decals from Gaston for over 10 years with no issues at all. As a matter of fact, I just received the 777-300 AA decals I ordered from him 15 days ago. Walter
  17. Mika, why would Constanza create newly built masters that are identical to Gremlin models? Just wondering?
  18. In 2005 I was in contact with Aleksa from Gremlin models. I bought his entire line of GA kits. I really like them. I think Constanza models got the masters. You can find the 335 and some other models in the Aviation Megastore site.
  19. Julien, Liberty Quality Models has an excellent line of commuter 1/72 scale models. Highly recommended and secure source! http://www.libertyquality.com.br/
  20. I am now battling to finish the Heller 1/72 Concorde. It is such a shame that the kit is by far one of the worst 1/72 kits I have ever build. No respect for Concorde!!! I am going to finish mine "travel agency" style. I am not worry about detail, just paint, decal and done. The fit of ALL parts is horrible. I probably have used already two tubes of Tamiya putty. I will be matting the engine nacelles to the wing in the next few days, I will let you know how mine works out. Any one seen the 1/48 Concorde?
  21. Gremlin Models made the Cheyenne I II III and IV. He sold his masters a few years ago. Very nice fellow he is. I believe Constanza kits has the masters since they are already doing the Twin Cessna line. http://www.ipmsdeutschland.de/FirstLook/Constanza_Kit/Cessna_335_340/Constanza_Cessna_335_340.html
  22. Great to see young modelers being very creative. What an incredible job he has done. Maybe future Boeing/Airbus Engineer!
