  1. I agree with this. The Tamiya F4D Skyray is an awesome kit. Fits well, easy to build and looks great when done. Probably one of the crispest kits I have ever built. I love it.
  2. Your weathering and rivetting is remarkable. What tools did you use for the rivets? Thank you.
  3. You did the right thing in avoiding the Trumpeter kit. It just looks too "boxy" whereas the Hasegawa kit, dated as it may be, seems to capture the elegant lines of the real thing. Nicely done!
  4. How did you tackle the Hobbyboss kit's undersized windshield and the odd-shaped & ill-fitting intakes? You did a great job.
  5. Didn't Indonesia order this aircraft too? Would be interesting in a fictional Elang Biru or a TNI-AU grey/green scheme like the F-16s.
  6. I have this kit in my stash and your build provides me the motivation to finish it someday. Very nicely done, especially the details in the cockpit and the weathering.
  7. This is a great way to honor your friend. Very nice work!
  8. Very nice work. I also like how to you detailed the wheels with brake wires as well as the overhead antenna wires.
  9. I enjoyed reading your posts and your progress on this kit. For some reason, I've also been fascinated by the "square-winged Zero". I learnt about it's existence from the ancient 1/72 Hasegawa kit: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/hasegawa-js-077-zero-fighter-mitsubishi-a6m3--1073052 which I think came out in the 1970s. Raised panel lines, pilot figure included, rectangular "bath-tub" for a cockpit Not to be confused with the newer mold that came out later: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10000681 https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10139602 This version is such a unique oddity of the Zero versions that it just begs to be built. Will follow your work. Good luck!
  10. Man, that base and background is awesome! Very realistic!
  11. Or you can contact this Japanese gentleman for a conversion set for the still-awesome Fujimi kit: http://lonestars.web.fc2.com/LSR7208.htm I think it's only about US$13. Other goodies from him: http://lonestars.web.fc2.com/SaleIndex.htm I've bought from him before. He's trustworthy
  12. If all else fails, JT19 goes for under US$13 here: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10000391 I think the decal sheet allows you to build 2 or 3 versions leaving you with spares after you've used them for your current build.
  13. I too have a fondness for the F-1 and its stable-mate: the T-2. You've done a great job on this kit. Especially how you've made the seams at the top disappear.
  14. Can you post your pics in ARC forums? They don't seem to load properly for me here. I can only see a couple of the pics. Even after refreshing the page several times.
  15. That's a beauty. Nice camera work & lighting too.
  16. Good work on filling those wing seams
  17. Yup, still looks good after all these years: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10000570 And at less than USD $6, it's a steal. I built one years ago. Still one of my favorite kits.
  18. If they were going to release an A-4M variant, at least they could have released the unique Argentinian A-4AR Fighting Hawk, rather than just another A-4M. Honestly, the Hasegawa kit is already very good.
  19. Man, that Shigeo Koike boxart on the Hasegawa kit.... Looking forward to both the A6M2 & A6M5.
  20. As others have mentioned, this is an astounding model! I have some questions: 1. Which paint brands did you use? 2. Which rivet maker did you use? 3. How did you highlight the rivets on the top & side fuselage? Esp the "white" rivets just behind the nose glass and on top of the wings. I really like the way these "white" rivets stand out against the green/green-grey camoflage. Thank you very much.
  21. Very nice! Can I ask what brand & colours did you use for the metallic bottom? It looks great! Thank you.
