  1. Hi Gary, Well, I think I'm convinced mainly due to the Gallery, I like this option a lot! Anyway, several things... 1 - I've started the Database on an old XP machine but now have a new computer running Windows 7, is it possible to transfer everything currently on the XP machine to my new computer and have your programme pick up all the details, or do I need to start a new database from scratch? 2 - If it is possible to transfer data from one machine to another, how do I do so (computer illiterate I'm afraid although I have managed to install the full programme onto my new machine)? 3 - One little niggle that I have, is that when I resize the columns in the main display then close down the programme, I have to resize the columns again, the next time that I reopen Kitbase, is it possible to make the columns remain at the desired width, without having to resize them each time? 4 - With regard to these columns, do we have the ability to rename them? One example would be the Stored with (RecNo), as my preference would be to not have the (RecNo) included and similarly, Current Market Value looks a bit long when the price listed may only have 6 digits (999.99). 5 - With the Running Total option, the reason I started a list of my collection was for insurance purposes, so I would like a Running Total based on the current market price, of all the items listed in the database and for this to be permanently visible and 'live', possibly in the Drop Down Menu section of the main display. Others, I'm sure will have their own preference, so would it be possible to have a Running Total for all cost options which could be then chosen by the individual user, from a drop down list? 6 - As for the Gallery, once the pictures have been uploaded, can the originals then be deleted from my computer and will they also transfer to the new computer? I hope that I've explained myself clearly (not something that I'm very good at unfortunately ) and I look forward to using the programme in place of my Excel file. Many thanks, Tony
  2. I know it's off on a tangent but has this been released yet or if not, any ideas when?
  3. A wife with a sense of humour, I should keep her then, sounds like a good 'un, just don't tell her I said so PS Where's the next update?
  4. Absolutely no criticisms, looks really nice but do have a couple of questions if I may? What are are the dimensions of the finished kit? I have seen a quite few of these kits finished and all the tyres seem to have a line through the middle if the road contact patch, is this due to the moulding process or an accurate representation of the original tyre? My mind is made up and I do intend to buy a few F1/Le Mans racers and hope that I can match your finish! Tony
  5. It's nice to see something I've sold finished and you've done a great job with it (particularly like the weathering...), just shame it wasn't in an RAF scheme but as you say, next time
  6. WHAT! Leaving the work bench? Don't they have buses or taxi's in Bulgaria then? I was going to add "man or mouse" but then remembered that most women are scared of mice!
  7. What, no trigger mechanism, you're slacking dear boy!
  8. I once bought the wife a wooden car! It had a wooden engine, wooden wheel and wooden seats, only trouble was it wooden go. Sorry...
  9. Even better, a vacform replacement canopy in 1/72, 1/48, 1/32 and 1/24, for this modeller... Yes I know, I'm not asking for much
  10. May I suggest that we simply follow in the Master Modeller's shadow...
  11. what a great idea, why is it I can never think of something so simple as this?
  12. I have too say that you do make scratch building look easy
  13. Hi Foz, Guess you're using balsa for the undercarriage struts? Will this be strong enough to take the weight of the kit or have/will you added rod, the full length of the strut? Another question, just where do you display your finished kits and please don't tell me that you recycle them!
  14. I'm no expert at metallic finishes like this but maybe spray base silver then add thin stripes of masking tape then spray darker shade of silver then gently buff?
  15. Aaaaaaahhhh, that's better, its amazing what you can find when you actually look! Thanks
  16. Nice build though one query if I may, shouldn't the Goodyear name be in white? I been thinking of building a few F1/Le Mans cars and this is one of my favourite F1 cars of all time, simply because of the quirkiness of the design. I seem to remember that Williams also raced a 6 wheeler but the wheels were all the same size(?), was there ever a model released of this car, oh and the Brabham Fan Car as well?
  17. Great idea and I've already used the Spitfire section. However, is there any possibility that the Sections could be listed alphabetically?
  18. Me thinks that you undersell yourself Sir! Thanks for the answers.
  19. Not that I want you to have nightmares, but could you tell us what sort of difficulties you are experiencing? I'd also like to know what tools if you are using, I'd guess the scalpels, sanding blocks/paper/files etc, but do you use anything specialist? Thanks, Tony
  20. ...and there's me looking at the XVIe on page 163, thinking that was the only photo of that Mark in the book Thanks and thanks to Edgar as well. Undoubtedly more question to follow.
  21. Thanks for the ongoing responses to my queries, my next batch are below... As mentioned, I building the ICM kit as TB675 from 74 Sqdn around April 1945 so... 1 - How do I know if this airframe is an early or late E Wing? 2 - Which gun barrel should I use for the outer 20mm Hispano cannon position AM48005 AM48006 or possibly even AM48004 from the C Wing Its just that to my eyes, the C-Wing barrel looks correct, whilst the others look 'later'! Thanks for any advise offered. Tony
  22. I always learn something during your builds so I look forward to seeing how you will incorporate the half eaten pizza from the kitchen bin!
  23. I too have recently purchased Kitbase and am running both Kitbase and Excel side by side until I make a final decision on which to concentrate on. Being able to produce reports is not that important to me, so I doubt that I would ever use that option but one field that I would like to see in Kitbase, is a Running Total of the costs, as well as the individual costs for both the Amount Paid and Total Paid fields.
  24. Tony C

    Ignore!

I too was ignoring this post until the above word appeared! Can we ignore nowsyness? What does nowsyness mean? Is my life complete without nowsyness?
  25. Have to say that those exhausts are possibly the best representation that I have ever seen
