  1. Good morning James Looking at your paint job it doesn't appear to be too heavy so I would say your not to close or applying to much. I would suggest using Tamiya masking tape though. Do you have an airbrush? If yes you could try decanting some paint, an airbrush would give more control. Hope this helps. Richard. P.s Would like to see your model finished.
  2. Looks the business with all gear on it. Well done. Cheers, Richard.
  3. Hi there This is a very very nice kit. The weathering looks spot on. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Richard.
  4. That's a sweet looking Chieftain HL-10 The weathering looks amazing. And well done on the figures too, I'm not brave enough to do that yet. Cheers, Richard.
  5. Thanks HL-10 More pictures added. Enjoy. Cheers, Richard.
  6. Hello all I'm back again with another tank. Tamiya's lovely Jagdpanther. Had a lot of fun with this one, but I do need to not leave such a big gap between builds! I keep forgetting how I did things. Anywho about this kit, I have added Bronco tracks mixed with the tracks that came with the tank. I used these around the drive sprockets, I couldn't get the Bronco one's to fit! The barrel and grills are from Aber. My son, who was 'helping me,' decided to trim the tip off the kit one with my side cutters! Doh! I weathered the tank with Tamiya textured mud and used their panel line wash also. This worked well I thought for the spots of oil around the hull. I do think the green colour isn't quite right and it might have the wrong exhausts for the late model Jagdpanther that the markings depict. But all in all an enjoyable build. Please any tips most welcome. Cheers, Richard.
  7. Hi there is this the parts you are after? www.ebay.com/itm/1-32-TAMIYA-North-American-P-51D-Mustang-Sprue-Tree-E-Supercharger-60322-/321509277778?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item4adb724052 Richard.
  8. Hello all, progress is very slow but I have managed to do some work on the 'Cat. Got the cockpit all sorted with seated pilot figures from Hasegawa. Had a go at re-scribing as well, plenty more of that to do! I have put a slot into the pivot on the wings, this allows me to fit the wings after the fuselage has been glued and still utilise the 'swing wing' action. The under carriage doors are all fitted in the up position. I was quite surprised how good the fit was with most of them. Andy C, yes you get a few extra bits with this version. The ones you mentioned and a selection of GBU's also. Thats all for now. Cheers Richard.
  9. Hi Ropert, great start there. Like what you did with the IP's and consols. Keep up the good work, Richard.
  10. Hi Maverick Your cockpit is looking great. I like how you put those extra handles to good use, very clever! Keep 'em coming! Richard( no call sign yet...sorry!)
  11. Hi there Giorgio N yes you are right, it is the new ''D'' model Tomcat from Revell. The new parts are ok. Not Hasegawa quality but I think with some creative painting and weathering they should look ok! I look forward to seeing it done too. Cheers, Richard.
  12. Looking real good so far! Maybe one day I'll get around to building a Hasegawa F14, very keen to see how it goes together. Cheers, Richard.
  13. Hi there, can I join in the fun with this kit? I hope to finish it in-flight and straight outta the box! I have had a sneeky wee play with test fitting and re shaping of the nose cone. Looking forward to seeing everyones Tomcats. Cheers, Richard. Ps. I will try to complete this GB this time!
  14. Great work. Like the painting alot. Thanks for sharing. Richard.
  15. Hello everybody, well the GB has been underway for a while now so I thought I had better show some progress. Work has started in the cockpit. Nothing to flash, straight out of the box. Painted with a mix of Tamiya and Humbrol and then given a wash with Tamiya smoke. As I'm planning an in-flight model I have included the pilot figures. The pilots were easy to paint due to the faces being covered. Thanks for looking and happy modeling. Richard.
